Well, logically, the championship is 5 rounds. If Dana wants the winner of a certain fight to be the next challenger, it would be very beneficial for the fighter and everyone else to know who deserving and who's fit to last in a 5 round fight.

See last night, 4th and 5th rounds may have revealed something about Hendricks that we still don't know about and Condit seems to have a 2nd wind. So much for that.

Yeah, but only if the winner is 100% guaranteed a title shot. No more implied title eliminators, or eliminators where only one of the guys is in line for a shot with a victory.

Not for me Rob, the UFC now have an official ranking system right?

Hendricks was #1 as of the beginning of the fight, Condit #3, (3 or 4 cant remember) Condit just came off a 5 round fight with the champion, if ever there was a case for a 5 round fight where one of the two were not guarantee'd a shot even if they won, it has to be this!

I understand there are allocated time slots for the whole show but whats right is right, if Jonny Hendricks is a number one ranked fighter but cannot fight 5 rounds, should that not be weened out?

I still think only title fights should be 5 rounders personally

    I understand you completely Stoo.

It would take the prestige out of championship fights if there are other fights that are 5 rounds. But UFC might need this in order to determine who really deserves the shot.

How about do away with 3 rounds on anything other than prelims? 15 minutes does seem like **** all for a professional athlete of the highest level to compete over. I know how hard MMA is and I'm not saying I could do 3 rounds but months of training go into these fights and 15 minutes seems a bit short now the UFC isn't just Tank Abbots swinging for the fences in every other fight.

5 rounds on the main card and 7 round title fights.

Exciting fights would be epic. Boring fights would make me want to claw my ****ing eyes out.

It's easy to say in welter with it being such a strong division but I can see a lot of stink fests between fluffed up gate keepers. I dont think the depth of the divisions are there yet. Would look at it in the future

It really doesn't make sense that eliminators aren't 5 rounders. In fact a number of fighters could do with preparing for and competing in a 5 round fight.

they will be too tired to fight in the title fight after a five round eliminator!

I agree. The entire 3 round / 5 round system in the UFC is broken.

All Main Card fights should be 5 rounds.
