this when Bradley got hurt you could tell by his face he was concentrating for his life he was either punching back or trying to duck, when Alvarado got hurt after all the punches landed you could see his face he didnt have a clue wtf he was doing, it looked like he was trying to block but couldnt move his arms, he didnt look focused at all like Bradley did
Everyone would have called him a bum with a glass chin That's how boxing is these days. upset of the year? more so than Lopez Ortiz...
Would have been slightly premature, however we've all seen stoppages much worse. Bradley by his own admission he thought he was concussed and that is a dangerous condition to be fighting in. Realistically he was one straight shot away from being stopped.
In my opinion should a 10-8 round only be given when the fighter is being dominated like bradley and not fighting back. Like some of the rounds in the Bute - froch fight.
even though he was punching back that would have been an amazing upset, i am a big time Bradley fan but i probably would be jumping around because that would be a great boxing moment
Many times (through the whole fight, not just rnd 2) it seemed like it was just one flush punch away from being stopped... but it just never quite happened... Timmy was still moving and throwing back... Ruslan got too excited and wild, forgot to go to the body, smothered himself a bit,,, and just didn't place his shot's quite well enough to get the TKO at those crucial points when Tim was on ***** St. Either way, it would not have been the worst stoppage ever... (we've seen much worst)but I think the ref made the right call letting it go on.
Even more shocking than Provodnikov getting to Bradley and putting him in such rough shape was Bradley actually soldiering through it and eventually rallying back. If Pat Russell had stopped it any time from late in the 1st through anywhere in the 2nd, I wouldn't have begrudged him the call - but I'm glad he didn't because we got to witness some really special ****.
I could see the call for it from a referee's POV but I personally wouldn't have stopped it. I'd have been slightly disappointed but not overtly angry at that decision. Let's all just be thankful the fight took place in America and not the UK. Fight would have been stopped as soon as a stiff jab landed.
