Is scoring gonna be same as pro's? I heard this was possibly coming into play a while ago by a judge. Would be a positive I think

About time! This will improve amateur boxing and will improve fighters defence whilst reducing head trauma.

 

Great move this, can only benefit proffessional boxing when amateurs turn pro. This and the change in scoring means hopefully in the future the top amateurs are less like fencers and turn into top pros.

 

All seniors should be like WSB but over 3 rounds.

 

Good news, especially if the 10 point scoring system is brought back, hopefully this means that the amateurs that turn over won't find it as hard to adapt to the pro game and we all see the benefits.

This will only happen if they are matched right though if they are still going to be protected and matched against Bulgarian Bellboys until they are 20-0 then it will be a waste of time.

 

Imagine if Spence had joined WSB style a few years back. He wouldn't be learning on the job as he is now.

Price probably still wouldn't be boxing now or at the very least he would have developed a style that protected his glass head at ALL times.

It's a step in the right direction for the amateur game, I have to be honest the whole pity pat single shot scoring system put me right off of it.

 

Same as. Watch Ray Leonard at Montreal and you can see he's a pro' needing a bit more development.

Nope. I'm no fan of making amateur boxing more like pro. They need their distinct differences. Also, it will encourage more defensive boxing. It may also affect the number of people taking up amateur boxing.

I do want the 10 point must rule in effect over 3 x 3. But emphasis on punchung with the correct part of the glove needs to remain.
