    Russell's recent competition has been a joke. The fact that HBO keep giving him premium air time against these no hopers shows how in thrall they are to promoters/managers and their desire to manufacture stars rather than let them develop naturally.

    Russell has shows a LOT of potential. And he seems like a genuinely good guy. I'm hoping he steps up within his next two fights. Dude's got the goods to be a major player!!

    See, the thing is, it's not HBO's choice to do this. This is why HBO is dumping all GBP connections now. Haymon and GBP want to sell products in the sport, and not build a fighter like a promoter should.

    Some of the writers and TV folk in boxing are doing more to **** on the sport than many of those actually involved in it. It's one of the reasons that we, the supposed "internet fans" need to pull people up on their bull****.
