The disrespect for Alex Povetkin has got to stop!!

    The guy is an Olympic gold medalist for Christ sake, yet, here we have posters sh1tting on him 24/7, most of whom have never been in a fight in their lives, let alone boxed a couple of rounds. :oops:

    Klit fans proclaim that Wlad will knock him out. Maybe, maybe not. He couldn't knock out Sanders and Alex is 10x better than old, out of shape golfer.

    According to Haye fanatics, Mr. Excitement KOs everyone inside 2... even though his HW resume is paper thin. Chris Byrd is a better win than any win on Haye's resume, yet, Haye huggers will have you believe that the result of the fight is foregone conclusion (Haye KO, of course).

    Alex might've struggled with Huck, but there is no denying that Huck is a good CW with serious power who was underestimated by Povetkin and his team. Povetkin was also in a bad place during that time (switching trainers, etc.).

    I don't get the hate for Povetkin, he is an undefeated gold medalist, his resume is better than most, and he fights relatively often. Plus, Alex seems like a nice guy. So, in a sense, he is complete opposite of Haye (who fights once per year and talks sh1t he can't back up) and Klits (who rip you off financially and mostly fight blown up cruisers and slow, unskilled giants), which is probably why their fans hate the guy.

    I think that, at this point in time, Alex UD's old and slow Vitali but looses UD/SD to Wlad in Germany (K2 judges and ref). No shame in that. Adamek, Arreola, Banks, Haye, etc. all loose to him.

    Bring on the hate.

    Who said Haye KO's Povetkin in two rounds.

    I think you've got Povetkin/Adamek confusion.



    Also, there isn't a single source to say this fight happens.

    Agreed. Adamek would be breakfast for Haye. Povetkin is another story. Great fight if it does indeed happen, stylistically it would be a hell of a scrap.

    Actually where did this Povetkin vs. Haye talk come from? No source really?

    Sorry, but Povetkin deserves all the discrespect he gets because of his pitiful opposition after being the #3 in the division.

    He beat the likes of Chambers and former HW #1 Chris Byrd, then goes on to duck Wlad twice and instead fight cab driver C level contenders instead. Then in the Huck fight Povetkin shows his total lack of discipline and mental strength by coming into the ring in a pitifully soft shape which almost made him lost the fight to an awfully crude CW.

    Considering where Povetkin is coming from, his amateur pedigree, the promising start of his pro career and the terrible letdown he deserves all the criticism he's getting. I'll start paying respect to Povetkin once he starts earning it back.

    Haye's ESB record is 100-0 with 100 KOs.

    It's a pro Povetkin thread, not Haye vs Alex thread. :deal

    he would be more respected had he stepped up and not ran from Wlado twice

    I hope this fight is finally made, Sasha is a good fighter, just not on Wlad's level

    Rahman was just meant to be an undercard fight for Haye and Chisora.
    Whats respectable about Wlad bringing Mormek out of retirement and passing it off as a unified world title fight.

    Rahman wasn't as bad as bringing Mormek out of retirement to fight for all the belts. What is respectable about that?
    Povektin is a solid boxer and when in shape has a chance to beat anybody in the division including Wlad. He always always wanted to fight Wlad. Teddy Atlas prevented it so his pride wouldn't be dented if Povektin lost.
