Levi Forte's name brings a smile, BD. I sparred with him at the 5th St. gym when he was a gangly welter.

Styles make fights, you're showing no understanding of that. The fact that guys like Levi Forte were able to go many rounds with Foreman just shows that Foreman was a BUM technically. Levi Forte was a glass jawed bum with not a single good win on his record. He couldn't hold Hopkins' jockstrap, even a 50 year old Hopkins. And hell yes, a prime-ish Hopkins at around 180 could definitely go 10 rounds with that version of Foreman.

I like how you play up size when it's convenient for you. When I tell you that Vlad would toy with Marciano like a rag doll, put him on ***** street with a jab, and knock him out whenever he feels like it - you don't want to hear it. Oh but a certifiable bumsteak like Levi Forte would "smash" BHop, you see. :patsch

Guy was no bum, and he took tremendous beating. He was always matched tough look at his record. Do you even know some of the names on there?

Sure, losing to guys with records like 15-22 doesn't make you a bum... if you fought in the days of black and white. There's like 2 or 3 names on his record, the rest are certified bumsteak.

It's funny how a nutbag like you can't pick a current fight to save your life, as demonstrated by your vCash total. But when it comes to past fighters, you think you got it all laced it up and know everything. I'm here to tell you that you don't know ****. Just like you can't call em today, you can't call hypotheticals with past fighters either.

Power could be an equalizer despite size but B-Hop would double over getting hit to the body or head by a puncher of the magnitude of these man, there are very few small guys I would include in the elite class but Marciano and Langford are 2 that would decimate Bernard.

In fact a light-heavyweight like Spinks and Foster would hit him much harder than the green PASCAL did and Segundo Mercado and IMO stop him

this is an about prime middleweight version of Hopkins and I dont think he survives SRR, Hagler, Greb, Monzon or many others, the light heavy version was craftier and more experienced but Spinks, Moore, foster, Charles,Conn would blast him out IMO

My favorite is when they talk about how many times guys fought per year back then, and how it made them hone their craft, and how much better they were.

Then you look at their records and it's like two good fights per year, same as guys have now, plus a dozen bums. World champions fighting guys with 40 losses and ****. Fights that would get a guy tarred and feathered today.

Boy if only Roy Jones or Hopkins had beaten up an extra 100 bums with losing records in their careers, then they'd have really been great.

There was nothing slow about Marciano when he let his hands go on the inside.
Hop will easily get out muscled in the clinch and will subsequently be destroyed by hooks to the head and body.

The magnitude of who? Levi Forte was no puncher. And Hopkins has fought punchers of that magnitude and better - Tarver, Cloud, even Dawson and Pascal. You realize that all these guys rehydrate at least 10 pounds over the light heavyweight limit? So Hopkins has been fighting and beating "50's heavyweights" in terms of size while well over 40 years old.

How the hell was Pascal green? Take that back, that's just ridiculous. And Hopkins was like 46 years old at the time. What were Michael Spinks and Bob Foster doing at that age? God knows Foster got the **** beat out of him by Doug Jones when he was in his physical prime. Imagine what prime Jones would do to a 46 year old Foster.

Hopkins wasn't badly hurt in the Mercado fight. If you're going to use that as some kind of measuring stick, then how does Hopkins ever beat a guy like Tarver or Cloud or even Pavlik? Roberto Duran got knocked down at 135 lbs, so I guess that means he doesn't stand a chance at 147, 154, and 160, right? This kind of reasoning is fundamentally flawed. Hopkins never demonstrated a weak chin, quite the opposite.

It was your flawed and senseless reasoning that stated if Applegate can go the distance with Marciano that Hopkins would....Hopkins faked a foul because he got hurt and started to tire in the fight with Joe Calzage, everyone knew he was faking and the replay showed no low blow. B-Hop was trying to gain rest and possibly steal something, against the elite punchers of the division Light heavy he would have a problem and get totally destroyed by an elite heavyweight puncher.

Hopkins is an experienced professional and one of the few around this last decade and manages to use that experience well against the very less experienced and carefully picked opponents today but there are no Conn's Moores,Charles, Mike Spinks or Bob Fosters around today either lucky for B-Hop

What does that even have to do with anything? Obviously, Hopkins was not in his physical prime when he fought Calzaghe. Hopkins had a problem with Calzaghe's volume, not his power. In his physical prime, Hopkins had no problem with volume.
