Fury still lacks defensive nous, he is ok against smaller guys who come to survive but against someone who can consistently beat him to the punch with hard shots, slip his punches with ease and out-think him? We all saw how short overweight Euro journeymen troubled and hurt Fury with technique free windmilling, if he's floored by the "walk forward swinging" style offense then Haye will make him **** his pants. Nah, Fury loses this one. Haye would make Fury punch himself in the face repeatedly.
Actually it use to be 175lb and above, and then 190lbs and above, and then finally 200lbs and above about a decade ago. I don't think a super heavyweight division is needed however. When David Haye fought Valuev he was giving up 100lbs, and he was still able to snatch a victory and wobble Valuev. This same 100lbs would be the same as Khan fighting Wlad... Once a man gets so big it ceases to be an advantage and becomes a disadvantage if anything.
Here's the point IF Haye's people offered the fight to Fury, I'll bet they wouldn't take it! and that's modern B.S boxing, the Board should make these fights and the best man between them moves forward toward true world honours. Haye al day!
I think Fury is a lot faster than people think, he might look clumsy, but like Vitali he knows how to move around the ring. RE the uppercut, how long ago was that? If someone like Chisora or Johnson can't wind him up, I don't see Haye doing it. I didn't see anything the press conference to suggest that Fury was "rattled" by Richardson, but we'll see about that come fight night. Again, I think Fury is more skilled that Cunningham, and I think we'll see Fury win by using his height and skill. Yeah Johnson only had 3 weeks notice, but he weighed less for the Fury fight than he did for the Vitali Klitschko fight, he was definitely in fighting shape.
I don't think Fury would lose by stoppage, surprised so many people have went for that option. I think Haye would be likely to win on points but would struggle with Tysons height.
I still think fury has huge problems defending the right hand, I don't know if he adjusted or improved that flaw because Johnson barely threw a shot. Fury certainly has a work rate that could bother Haye but. .. and it's a huge but, can he consistently be trusted to avoid the overhand right haymaker? I doubt it. Haye in 6.
I really don't get all the talk about a massive improvement for the Johnson fight. Johnson is a complete non-entity, he comes to survive and earn a paycheck, obviously Fury is going to look good against a guy who plods around with his hands up not throwing any punches! Remember it's not that long ago since Pajkic and Firtha gave him problems, since then we've had Rogan, Maddalone and Johnson. Not really any way to guage his abilities, the only one of those who can be considered a step up is Johnson and he's about as safe as you can get! Personally I think he boxed a bit tighter and was more careful, he also circles a bit better (he's quite a good mover for his size anyway) but there's nothing there to suggest he'd be competetive with someone like Haye.
The biggest flaw I think Fury has, is his lack of power and even though it would take Haye a few rounds to find his way in range of Fury, his big right-hands would connect and I suspect Fury would be in trouble. Having said that we haven't seen Fury's chin tested so we don't know how he would react.
Haye by KO whenever he fancied it! Tyson is way to easy to hit and we have seen him go down before. He also doesnt have the power to put Haye off.
[yt]Ese1YPpw5mE[/yt] 6:20 Fury gets decked by the off balance wild swings of Neven "The White Roy Jones Jr" Pajkic. Since then he's fought Rogan, Maddalone and Johnson. Now imagine that's Haye timing some sharp right hands on that chin.
