:yep Look at Fat Mick, look at Smooth Eddie Hearn, then look at how you lot react to them. It's not complicated.
At the end of the day Hennessy has carved out several excellent opportunities for himself with deals with the BBC, Sky, ITV and Channel 5 but has failed to take advantage of those opportunities which he must take the majority of the blame. He must obviously have some good qualities as a promoter because he did well with Froch initially and he progressed Tyson Fury's career very well and despite all of the controversial stuff Fury tweets/talks, I get the impression he has an excellent relationship with Hennessy and respects him a lot which I think speaks volumes about how Hennessy manages his fighters. However, losing Froch was pretty catastrophic and to have a situation where the only live access for the Taylor fight was via internet streaming simply isn't good enough no matter how you dress it up. I hope he learns and does well with the Furys, Degale, Eubank Jnr etc. because they're all good fighters to watch and whilst King Eddie is taking over with Sky, Hatton Promotions are stagnating and Fun Time Franky is fast becoming a UK parallel of Don King, it's important a promoter like Hennessy can provide at least some credible competition.
the man who brought phil fury, superbad barnes and angel mckenzie to ITV on primetime saturday night ....what's not to like?
:rofl All seriousness I like Hennessy, he definitely loves the sport but he's not all that as a promoter he's had numerous chances on terrestrial television and ruined them.
I was at that show and it was a walk out bout near the end of the night. I'd say the fact that ITV showed it says more about them than it does Hennessy.
Fat MIck is great at building a fighters poularity and turning fighters into household names Look at Junior Witter and Froch(before moving on to Hearn)
Take the fights to the people, is not a bad idea. The Nark in the Park was a great success and event. And that was just a random tent. [yt]nBx8ryCNckU[/yt]
Fury has been evolved in great fights! and NOW he is fighting in america in Madison Square Garden!! David Haye has not even fought in any of the iconic america boxing arena's. Very few current British fighters have. Tyson Fury is travelling and enjoying boxing.
