No it's because I ****ed up and put a time limit on the poll.

Duran would be slightly winning by now I reckon.

I never said Duran wasnt stonger or never hit harder than Mayweather. That is obvious for everyone to see. I merely mentioned athleticism and speed as the things which he was inferior in. With that Mayweather has had more to work with because he also was a good puncher in the lower weights. Over the years watching boxing I’ve always felt that being gifted with speed and athleticism can aid you greatly in the ring because it has a direct positive influence on both attack AND defence. You can create better opportunities with your punching because your hands are quicker and more dynamic with athleticism (which can contribute greatly to power also). And you can better evade attacks because your reflexes and footwork are sharper too. You’re just an all-round better athlete. Whereas if you’re just tough and hit hard you’re mainly benefitting from the attacking aspect of the game only. You’re still liable to being taken advantage of by the more athletic fleet footed opponents.

But thats not to say Duran was not athletic because you’re right he was gifted also. But Mayweather more so. As for Mayweather not relying on his physical gifts, thats true only to an extent. He still uses his impressive speed and reflexes which are still better than anyone elses in the division. Which brings us onto the fact that he’s also fighting in a far inferior era. The welterweight division is poor now. Even a 50% version of a prime Mayweather handles the likes of Guerrero, Alexander, Garcia and so on with ease.

    Floyd wins.

    "I WIN"

    Braggadocios rhythmic vernacular,
Designed to back you up, I back it up with a spectacular,
You're just a fraction of my perpendicular with no particular,
English structures, I'm giving you ruptures,
As I erupt into your cerebellum, I tried to tell 'em,
I'm moving a vortex, your cerebral cortex,
And the reaction you're havin' like a spasm,
Upon further review, you see it was a lyrical orgasm,
How did it happen? You can't even describe the vibe,
What was an essence of God's presence felt beside,
Bestowed upon you from the moment I dropped it on you,
I strike like a thief in the night and can't nobody warn you,
I'm on you; I've got that truly God-like,
    Metaphysical, neolithical,
As what you see in me, lyrical deity,
Hip-hop's pantheon, one step beyond without standing on,
Whatever the hot Tom, Tate, Sean's fans be on,
I lights them up like neon, locks them down like Dion,
Reclaim my title three times like Ali when he beat Leon,
And that's what I be on for the peons, we gone.

    Deal with it. Nikkas. :smoke

Duran - he's beat ATG throughout his career, he has adapted to all kinds of opponents with all kinds of styles - bigger guys, faster guys, aggressive, defensive. Floyd doesn't compare....crazy !
