This content is protected He sticks his left arm up and partially blocks a heavy right hand. His guard is not tight here and there is no way he effectively erases the entire force of the blow by sticking one arm up at the last second. He also eats two or three solid body shots and decides it's best to maybe get himself out of the corner.
Point is... he puts his hand up before the punch lands and blocks it... None of those punches landed except one body blow.. the other 7 or 8 punches miss totally
That's actually not true at all. That's why he was a better ring general than Mayweather, because he was impossible to trap, whereas Floyd often gets trapped/allows himself to get trapped. Pete was one of the best at slipping and rolling punches from all ranges, and blocked very effectively in close as well. He was a better in-fighter than Floyd flat out.
His footwork is superior to Floyd's; however, it's not like Floyd doesn't know the ropes are there when he retreats. James Toney was as much a ring general as anyone, and he loved it on the ropes.
Whitaker from what I remembere was somewhere along the lines of 32-21 in terms of punch stats Nowhere near Floyd's 46-16 Floyd definitely has the better defense, more punching power, better chin, more heart, aura of invincibility, etc etc He would beat Whitaker, 9-3, 8-4 or 7-5. In a 10 bout contest, Floyd would win 8 of em. Pea has the better resume, but Floyd's h2h ability is far stronger.
lol hey buddy :hi: mbe i'm a glutton for punishment... lol.. really though.. I made this originally in the classic section and it disappeared.. like literally. So I thought somebody wasnt happy with it there. Trust me, I value n wanted opinions from there more :happy
Yup Pea had the better competition, means nothing. I stated this on multiple occasions. However, Floyd would have went undefeated against Pea's opponents. That, you can take to the bank. Floyd has thoroughly dominated all of his opponents. No one can beat him. Pea didn't.
Just say you have no clue then, instead of wasting my team. Floyd wouldn't even take some of the fights Pea did.. let alone win... He wouldn't even be in the same stated as Chavez, McGirt or Nelson if they wanted a fight. He avoided fights with Pac and you expect me to believe he takes on the above.. Please. Even worse... you think he would beat Vasquez.. let alone fight him??? BWAHAHAHHAH he would be in the same continent as Vasquez if he wanted a fight. As soon as you stated competition means nothing.. you lost what little credibility you had. Competition means everything... HOw you do against fellow ATG means way more than having the chumps on May's resume that he has. When you fight the best you're doing to have some losses.. it happens... Look at how many SRR has... it will just happen.. but he's still the best fighter ever. whitaker didn't lose a fight IMO till Trindad. Mind you, ANOTHER person Floyd would be in the continent with if he was looking for a fight. That was a Prime Deadly WW puncher that was walking down a coked up Whitaker with a broken Jaw and still couldn't put him away.
