When you get knocked out, you can recover but only when the fight is over lol... you probably mean knocked down.

 

Anyway, Jean Pascal by easy K.O... Bute is done, can't be more simple.

I agree. Bute hasn't shown much improvement in critical areas of his game since Andrade 1, and if he loses to Pascal, particularly if he doesn't perform very well, he should be looking for the exit.

If he loses in a great fight whilst performing very well, he's got a life-line and another 1-2-3 fights before retirement would make sense. He could try to fight the Hopkins vs. Cleverly loser, for example or the Dawson vs. next opponent loser.

If Bute gets knocked out like against Froch, say, I think he should call it a day straight away.

Yeah, Bute could probably still sell some 8k tickets even if he loses 2 out of his next four fights against less than top-table competition (Ward, Hopkins, Froch, Kessler), but what's the point of such a sorry end to one's career? Money? Not sure Bute's pride would be bought off if purses are only going to be around USD400k and if the best opponent he can be expected to beat is Stevenson, say.

 

I'm picking anyone who is able to put Hopkins down over Bute. This should be a great fight though and it'd be a great excuse for a trip to Canada.

Pascal is going to have to cut weight big time for this fight.

He seemed to have stamina issue when getting down to 174 and in his last bout, he couldnt even make 180. :rofl

And when he fought comfortably at 182, he couldnt get a guy out who was supposed to showcase his comeback. The same guy who was brutalized by Nathan Clevelry and Jurgen Braehmer.

He's got the worlds best undetectable steroid chemist in his camp, which should help with his power and punch resistance, but when Lucian hits that tender slim body of him, it's gonna make him think he'd just been kicked in the nuts by a footballer.

Im going to go out on a limb here and and say Bute by TKO, around the 11th rd while leading on the cards 98-91 with one prior KD early in the fight from a counter R hook.:deal

The fight will last 12 rounds and it will be a close one. In this way a rematch will be more demanded and exciting for the canadian fans.
Pascal could T/K.O Bute in the early rounds but if he follows this route, a rematch won't be so desirable and sellable, knowing that Bute has another brutal loss against Froch on his resume. Anyway, both will make good money and also I see Bute fighting Kessler and Hopkins too.

This fight would've been more interesting if Bute would've fought Pascal after the Johnson fight and not Froch.

Anyway , I wish Bute the best and I hope he retires healthy, rich and adds on his resume names like Kessler,Ward,Hopkins and Dawson.:yep

 

So Pascal will go easy on Bute instead of humiliating him only to buy himself the rematch? What a crazy thought. This is a fight, not a chessmatch.

 

Maybe he is done. Maybe he can come back after a bad patch. Other fighters have looked done before, but were able to come back.

 

Lucian Bute almost lost to a guy with only 13 fights. Pascal dominated in his comeback fight. And yeah Pascal is certainly on PEDs :-((

 

He didn't train properly and was demotivated. Pascal will be at his very best against Bute because it is his biggest fight by far in terms of importance. Same for Bute. Pascal at his best can be very dangerous and a formidable opponent. Just ask Dawson. Someone who can give Dawson hell cannot beat Bute?

 

yeah it's dumb to think Pascal isn't going to come into this fight prepared. He's gone as far to go to the Mayweather gym and then hire Heredia just for this fight.

 

This is a huge, huge fight for both, the biggest for each of them for a few reasons:

1. Huge bragging rights and king of Montreal/Canadian boxing title for the winner; a historic place in Canadian boxing for the winner; a lot of money in new local sponsorship deals for the winner

2. The loser becomes somewhat irrelevant, especially if it's Bute, because Bute has never won a title at 175 before, whereas Pascal will always be an ex-champ at 175.

3. Winner gets very profitable rematch against Froch in Montreal

4. Winner gets to try to avenge Lucas by fighting Kessler (even though Lucas was with InterBox), Pascal could take on the mantle of the avenger
