Roy Jones Jr vs Prime Joe Frazier

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by FightBreakDown, Mar 22, 2013.

  1. Roy was the most athletic boxer of all times.

    He's 5'10
    Frazier 5'11.

Frazier only outweight Roy by a few pounds at HW.. Can Roy out box Frazier?

I'll take **** for saying this, but among the generally accepted 20 best HW's ever, I believe Joe Frazier is one of the easiest in a "fantasy time machine H2H scenario."

edit: I do want to make clear that I would predict a Frazier victory here...

Wasn't Jones 5"11"? Frazier would destroy him anyway. Even if Roy outboxes him, the relentless pressure and power of Frazier would eventually get to him down the stretch.

Roy jones wasn't a natural heavyweight, Frazier was. Therefore i would say Frazier wins this. Frazier went the distance with a prime Ali and RJJ is not a prime Ali by any stretch.

Frazier would eat some shots early, but eventually start catching up to him and finally maul him down to the floor. People are underestimating the size difference here quite a bit, and Frazier was no ****ing joke.

Roy Jones didn't spend enough time at heavyweight for me to make an appropriate estimation. Frazier by TKO.
