My dream match at 135 (another is Duran-Armstrong).

    I still say Duran though.

Duran is more skilled offense wise and Whitaker is more skilled defense wise. I think i will have to say Duran for he is more effective.

The only thing remotely weak about Pernell's offense is his lack of power, which is more physical attribute than skill. His jab, punch variety, work rate, use of angles, in-fighting, body work are all amazing.

He was a tough little sonofabitch.

He'd looked complete **** against the likes of Rivera and Hurtado thanks in part to his increased cocaine usage, then poured everything he had left into that fight with De La Hoya. Fought the last six rounds against Trinidad with a broken jaw. Was only stopped because of a Broken Clavicle in his last fight. I haven't bothered to look it up, but apparently it was the ringside physician who called it off.

    Whitaker is a Boxing GOD.

    Whitaker

but Duran just had some crazy courage and balls of steel save for the no mas fight, that really made him the better fighter in our history books

Sweet Pea is technically more skilled but gets killed by Duran

Pretty sure I voted Duran the last time this was asked, but I took into account his power. Some kind of logic that he could make you miss... And pay. Not just in points. Not sure that's really fair though, hence the changed stance.

Tbf, Whitaker was at pretty much the same stage of his career when he was losing wide to Trinidad as Duran was when he was losing wide to Benitez. The coke and relative lack of power made sure he wasn't going to have the kind of longevity Duran managed, but each guy started to really falter at about the same point in their respective careers.

I'm kind of regreting voting for Duran tbh but still is close so i don't feel too bad.

Pea got underated offense and Duran got underated defense.
Duran got the better offense though as Pea got the better defense. Both several from some mental lapse time to time. Pea sometimes get into some flash overdrive and gets clocked more than he should as well as Duran.

Duran is more effective in breaking guys down. Pea got better survival instinct.

But yeah if i can change my pick it will prolly be pea now.
