As much as fans want this fight, who actually favors Cotto to beat PBF and why?

I don't believe that Cotto is better than any fighter that PBF has faced. His style will be easy to adjust to and he will get beat!!

I think that Cotto has more to prove because not only is Floyd his most accomplished opponent, he's the fastest, smarter, and more accurate than anyone Cotto has faced.

 

But Floyd has flaws too, and he isn't as physically strong as Cotto to boot.

If these two ever fight I would expect for both sides to have the other heavily scouted. Mosley had a plan vs Cotto - he said so in the countdown. He went on to say what would be effective vs Miguel and he was right in a lot of what he said. But Cotto had a clear idea of what to do as well, and he carried out his plan a little bit better than Shane did.

I don't expect any of that to matter, though, because Floyd doesn't want the fight.

 

Everytime Cotto got off to a fast start he got rocked ... and had to adjust in the middle of the fight because he was on the verge of getting knocked out.

He did that **** against Malignaggi and tired out and had to settle going 12 with him even though many say he was the stronger guy.

I think that Floyd is the more natural WW and has been more aggressive since fighting Chop Chop Corley. He's been stalking down his opponenets and often engadging on the inside. For the exception of Baldomir (he hurt his hand) he's been alot more aggressive.

I don't think he's going to run away from fighting Cotto on the inside he had moments when he locked up against DLH who was a 154 pounder -- and who had fought as high as middleweight.

 

Floyd has the advantage on ... chin, speed, agility, and reaction time, and experience.

 

I wish this fight would happen today. When PBF beats Cotto then what? Will you finally give him the props he deserves? Probably not. The haters will still find another reason to hate and discredit his win like they did for Hatton, Zab and Oscar. They will also say beating Cotto proved nothing he needs to beat Mosley, Williams or Quintana, it will never end.:-(

 

Cotto jab looked better then it really is against shane because shane made it easy for cotto by just coming forward , shane didn't move his head , he didn't use angles and he tried to take cotto out early so of course cotto jab looked good ..

You can't say what floyd wants , Arum may be beating the war drum about how Floyd is avoiding Cotto , but he fails to mention that he and Floyd has legal issues that need to be ironed out before he can make such a statement . I doubt floyd is going to over look millions that he says bob owes him and visa versa .

 

I just heard more of FLoyds interview on ESPN and he was talking about how Zab was inactive for 400 days and took Miguel 11 rounds and busted him up ...

He also said that he would love to fight Miguel Cotto ... but he has to get his fan base up -- he claims to have a big fan base but doesn't do big numbers -- you know me I did 3.5 mill buys last year... He also said that Arum is getting in the way ...

Floyd didn't seem scared of Cotto the way he was talking and he made a point to say that Cotto would have to get to his level.

He's not scared at all. He's just waiting for more money to come to the table.

 

If Floyd beat Cotto, he'd move into my top 20 (or just a bit outside of it) all time.

 

Physical strength is so over rated it not even funny , Tua is stronger then Chris byrd , tyson is stronger then Holyfield , lamata was stronger the SRR , hagler was stronger the SRL .. the list goes on .. strength will only matter when facing a lesser skilled fighter ,, against Floyd Cotto strength is not going to be a factor since everyone floyd fights appears to have a strength advantage over him , and rumor has it floyd spars Super middle weights ..

No doubt Cotto will chop floyd up if floyd sits right in front of him , which floyd wont do. but this will be based on who is the smartest fighter not the strongest

Floyd does spar super middleweights ... he's a gym rat ...

15-20min rounds and going 8+ rounds ...

 

he can take body punches too ... ask chop chop corley, lovemore n'dou, and carlos baldomir -- his sparring partners for prep for Hatton.
