Who was greater. Bowe is remembered as a great underachiever who wasted his great talent and athleticism by undertraining and overeating. However he was the undisputed HW champion of the world in a golden age of the HW's and bested a prime Evander Holyfield twice. He also beat a host of other top 90's contenders, including Herbie Hide and Larry Donald. He was also WBO champion for a time. Wladimir is a very talented fighter who has been let down often by his chin. His resume is in all fairness, not nearly as good as Bowe's. That much is unarguable. Also Wladimir has been the WBO champion twice, and unified the IBF-WBO titles a short while ago. Once again however, this accomplishment does not match Bowe's feat of being undisputed champ, particularly given their respective opponents in the division. Therefore on paper, Bowe has achieved more. Head to head, I believe Bowe is the greater fighter as well. He had excellent skills and size and has shown much more heart than Wladimir ever has, porticularly in his epic trilogy with Holyfield. Please Vote.
Bowe...no ****ing question about it. When Wlad beats a future hall of famer, then revisit this thread.
I personally think Bowe was the greater fighter, and achieved more than Wladimir has. Wladimir still has time to become the undisputed champion and have the dominance that Bowe did not have however
agreed a prime holyfield beats out anyone of wlads resume. sorry wlad lovers thats the truth and i like wlad personally.
I totally agree, but I was arguing with Ruskull about the matter and he suggested I see what the masses believe. Unsurprisingly, he sees Wlad as the better of the two.
look, I respect Wlad...with that being said: Bowe lost 1 fight...to an ATG, in a fight that couldve went either way. Bowe would NEVER have lost to Sanders, Purrity, Brewster. Bowe was undisputed champion. Bowe was well-rounded, could fight on the inside, jab from the outside, brawl and box, and had the heart of a champion...wlad from this list only has the outside jab. This shouldnt even be a question.
riddick bowe was without doubt the better man. anyone who beats the great evander holyfield deserves respect.!!!!!
who the hell voted for WLAD was greater and achieved more? :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl i bet they never saw bowe even fight
Bowe easily, he beat an ATG twice. Bowe has the better chin, heart, tougher, better inside fighter, never lost to a journeymen or a club fighter, never been knocked out, only lost once, to an ATG at that. Bowe would destroy Wlad, on the inside Wlad does nothing but hold, we have all seen Bowe continue to punch while in the clinch, all he would have to do is, get on the inside, wait for Wlad to open his arms wide, step to the side and land that big uppercut, with Wlads glass chin, a panic attack would ensue and the fight would be nearly over.
Bowe's two wins over Evander Holyfield are greater than anything Klitschko has or will accomplish. Klitschko's 8 title defenses obviously surpass Bowe. His list of wins from top to bottom probably has more quality names, but the fact that Bowe beat fighters such as Tony Tubbs, Bert Cooper, Pinklon Thomas, Herbie Hide, Tyrrell Biggs, Pierre Coetzer, Andrew Golota, Larry Donald, and Jorge Luis Gonzalez, ON TOP of his two wins over Holyfield give him the edge. Klitschko is better on the outside, Bowe is better on the inside. Bowe is better on the outside, however, than Klitschko is on the inside.
H2H I can see the argument for Bowe, but accomplished alot more? I don't think so. Bowe's 2 best wins are regarded more highly than Wlad's 2 best and I won't deny that, but Wlad's got a deeper overall resume and is showing better longevity in doing it. I don't see how a guy who was only champ for a little over a year has accomplished "alot more" than Wlad has.
look at all the wlad haters taking pleasure in ripping him :-( bowe has accomplished more to this point. he was the undisputed hw champ but he is overrated. hid best wins are evander and i think holyfield is the most overrated hw of this time. people love him more for his exciting style and heart so they can't be objective in analyzing him fairly. wlad will pass him eventually, because of his longevity, consistency, and dedication. h2h, imo wlad would handle bowe for two reasons. one, bowe was slow afoot and secondly, he had zero defense and i mean "Sam Peter" type defense. Klit would win a clear decision. bring up purrity, sanders, and brewster all u want, but those losses didnt occur in his prime. he is a much more complete fighter now, especially defensively. look at the difference in foot movement. he used to be a very flat-footed fighter but today moves constantly and has picked up several defensive tricks. a fighter's prime can occur later in his career after bad losses as lennox clearly proved.
