    The Burns fight won't have any impact on this scrap and vice versa, the two crowds are completely different demographics....both partisan and probably a lot of non hardcore fans.

    When Hobson made the fight he did so with McDonnells wishes in mind and with no concern for anyone elses, good for him....Why should Jamie fight on some undercard to satisfy someone elses schedule when he wants the spotlight firmly on him and in front of a home town crowd for whats maybe his one and only shot at a world strap

    I take your point but surely more people would see this fight and it would get more attention if it were on a big Sky PPV show, even if it just one of the undercard bouts. Fighting in the main even is great and special but if it's only going to be on BoxNation where a few thousand will watch (surely most will be watching Burns on Sky on the 11th if he gets a good opponent) then it's not THAT big of deal. If I were Jamie I'd have preferred to have it in Nottingham on the 25th if that were possible. All the world's boxing media will have their eyes on that night so that's good exposure and with it being on PPV he'd surely make a decent amount of wedge too.

    I take your point but McDonnell told Hobson that this is what he wanted and Hobson delivered, you can't ask anymore than that. He probably knows that this is his one and only chance and he wants to share that chance with his home town and the people who have supported him all along. I for one am happy that he's happy.

    SO realistically can this stadium be filled? What sort of attendance can we expect? Its a brave move I just cant recall Mcdonnell being much of a ticket seller.

    It sounds like they are only using half of the stadium which is about 9,000 tickets to shift. This won't just be a fight in Doncaster it will be an event and as such I can't see any problem selling out
