Wow last time I saw this was a few years ago. I forgot how terrible this ref was. Absolute disaster!

 That is a disgrace. That promoter and the ref should have been thrown out of boxing for that. Our sport is an embarrassment at times.

Well I would leave out the 'humanity' part but I otherwise agree.

Wlad could have fought them both in the same night, back to back, and racked up 2 KO victories. If Solis wants to get back near the top, he sure has a LONG way to go.

Despite the fact that Larsen is a peice of human excrement, he did show he has a solid enough beard, and loads of one punch power.

Solis fought an excellent fight considering those facts. He defended well against the power of Larsen and scored with some viscous shots of his own.

Also, Solis proved by not som much as buckling, that his chin is also not the certifiable china ppl have claimed since his debacle in the Klitschko fight.

All in all I rate Solis performance against Larsen a 7/10. He did what he had to for the W, but wasnt looking for the KO.

Keep in mind Solis has had just 2 fight now in just over 2 yrs. and his style is such that his combination punching, in order to be as sharp as it can be, needs to be practiced.

Let's be thankful he didnt call out a Maddalone type so he could get a showcase KO inside 2-3 rds.

Next up should be Adamek, and we all know Solis will get his KO in that one.:deal

Hell, the way Audley just performed last month in PF, I think he has earned another big fight. 2 former Gold Medalists going at it.

    Let's get it on.......

    I got Solis by KO....rd 5.:deal

I think many of you guys are way to hard on both Solis and Larsen.
Larsen had two weeks to prepare for this fight, did not have to time to work on his stamina, and getting into the right weight for boxing. He trains mostly weights inbetween fights, and usually ways close to 130kgs at that stage.
So, Larsen was slower than usual and had not gotten a lot of sparring rounds.
Better prepared, I think Larsen could have won this one on KO. 4th and 6th round Solis was visually shaken by Larsens power.

When that is said, Larsen has a short amateur record and absolutely no boxing pedigree compared to Solis. That he managed to win this many rounds is actually quite impressive in my view. Even though we are not talking about stylistically pretty boxing here, there is no doubt that Solis felt power he hasn't done many times before. Solis said after the fight that he was a very difficult fighter to meet. One of his toughest fights. From what I have read, most media gave Larsen 4-5 rounds. I had Solis in front with 1 or 2 rounds. Depends on how you scored the last round.

Then to Solis, why you giving him such a hard time? He was doing quite good up until fourth round. Eurosport commentator waited for a KO at that time. Solis didn't gas, what happened is that he got hit with some really heavy shots in the 4th and 6th. After that he was on the back foot, and his energy clearly drained after those blows. Larsen had to take away Solis activity and movement, and he did have som success with that. Sadly for him, he did not have the stamina or energy to jump on him.

All in all, I think Larsen proved that in proper form, he can probably knock anyone out. He also proved that he can take a punch better than most HW's. Solis hit him with some cracking blows, and did not affect him what so ever.

Solis proved that he could take some punishment himself, and still scrape together a points victory.

Don't really give a damn about Solis but I really wanted him to put the effort in and give Larsen a beating.

If he can't get motivated to repeatedly punch a convicted child molester in the face as hard as he possibly could then he won't get in shape for any other fight.

Buffet Table obviously way ahead. I doubt Solis has the will to put up a decent fight.

Wow Solis is a disgrace to humanity because he doesn't turn up in good shape?? Some people are pathetic on this forum.

Solis in good shape (the Vitali fight for his standards) would beat Pulev IMO and give Wladimir a very good fight, possibly beat him too.
