The four major sanctioning bodies are the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO. I thought that was common knowledge.

If you want to dissect every little detail, then do it by yourself. I've got better things to do than to humour trolls

Major by virtue of who adopted them. Meaningless by any measurable criteria.

All have storied histories of corruption and incompetence. The IBF may have corrected itself, but it puts together some woeful fights for its belts.

The WBA is a complete joke. Super champions, regular champions, interim champions, special interim champions, international champions.

The WBC is so partisan and vile that it basically gave away a title to Roy Jones Jr because it would make more money.

    And the WBO... seriously...

Not disputing that, but it is what it is

So there's no point acknowledging them if you agree they're inherently meaningless.

Why is he trolling? Was I trolling the other talking on the same subject when you told me I should get out more?
I don't know how old you are but some of us remember when there was only one world champ of the one world.

The fact is, this nor the other topic was about disputing the merits of the 4 major sanctioning bodies and their world titles.

I'm a strong believer there should be one world champion and don't like that there are multiple world champions, but these discussions are based on the fact that there are 4 major sanctioning bodies and world titles.

Of course, we can dispute the merits of that, but that's why I said let's just take it for what it is. And base the discussion on that. Rather than dissecting it all, because it makes it all very tedious.

I don't really want to be be arguing about this all night, so can we just leave it at that?

Maybe he wasn't trolling, but just seemed very petulant. I understand the point he was making, but I just didn't think it was helpful

No, that was the entire point of the thread. If you consider Hatton a three time world champion, then you do recognize 'alphabet titles' as 'legitmate' titles.

I was trying to get out of you, why you believed what you do, on this subject.

There is no right or wrong answers, but it is helpful if you have a reason for your opinion. Even if the reason is as simple as; following the crowd, for example.
