This along with Alexander vs Brook is a quality card! Two genuine 50/50 fights between 4 excellent fighters in weight classes that neighbour each other. GBP deserve big props here, and i can't wait for May 18th!

Matthysse grinds him down and stops him in the second half of the fight

I'm not sure if Peterson will be able to keep Mathysse off of him and I don't suspect him to try and outbox Lucas for 12 rounds.

There will inevitably be some violent exchanges which favors LM. Unless Peterson is able to hurt Mattysse, I don't see how he can win this fight.

cheering for Peterson but Matthysse will stop him late. I think Peterson will be leading ont he cards and Matthysse will turn up the heat and Peterson being the warrior he is will keep going toe to toe until he gets caught. It'll be a great fight and afterwards people will continue to overrate Matthysse. Garcia will then knock him out and the Matthysse hypetrain will be over. Most overrated fighter on ESB but stylistically he has a significant advantage over Peterson. Petersons questionable chin, willingness top trade and fight on the inside will be his undoing unless he somehow breaks Matthysse down to the body and starts early and goes hard from the get go. A Peterson win is def not out of question but Matthysse by late stoppage is the safe bet.

    Matthysse late stoppage.

That's exactly what he's gonna TRY to do, he's not gonna try to bang with Matthysse or he'll get banged out quickly. He'll try to box but he'll be forced to exchange. Peterson's bodywork might slow down Matthysse but still see him TKOing Peterson late.

This fight won't last 12 rounds! I just don't see it happening in this one. Someone's getting KO'd! Virgil Hunter does have the advantage of having already been training a fighter for Mathysse, even though that fight only lasted half a round and we didn't get to see too much of Mathysse's game in that one. I'm going with Matthysse, just because I think he's the heavier hitter of the two.

Peterson is trained by Barry Hunter not Virgil Hunter.
