Another stupid new rule by the WBC!

The only thing that'd do them significant damage would be if the major US tv networks put some kind of boycott on their title fights. The WBO was ignored completely for years by HBO and it wasn't until they started to acknowledge it that the WBO got put on the same level as the other 3 titles. They wield a lot more power because of the money they generate making them the place fighters need to have their fights shown.

 

If Golden Boy were to reject all belts and have their guys use the ring belt this organizations would die, I hope they crossed a line going at Golden Boys favorite.

 

The belts are meaningless at this point. The sooner fighters stop paying these crooks their sanctioning fees the better.

It's a shame that Graciano Rocchigiani didn't go through with suing the WBC into oblivion. :-(

 

Yeah, this ruling from Sulieman aint new.... its supposedly been in effect for a good bit of time...
I think it started when either Donaire or Rigondeaux trying to match up w/ Abner Mares and Sulieman steps out saying that WBC aint gonna do a multi-title champion.

That either protects their "chosen" fighters from better fighters trying to consolidate belts OR hoarding the sanctioning fees w/o having to share with another organization...

Fighters need to boycott WBC title fights.... would quickly end the selfishness

We need to start a new boxing organisation, the World Boxing League, and it's belts will be the most legitimate of the 5.

 

Although WBC is a corrupt organization, their belt is the best one and the most coveted by fighters. It's a stretch, but if this were to work in a positive way, then we would get what most of us have always wanted, 1 champ per division.

 

This hasn't further devalued belts. They had no value left to lose.

 

I don't see why we need belts in this day and age. It's absolutely ******ed. Like that fact that they think I need to see belts to judge how good a fighter is, insults my intelligence and should be insulting to every fight fan. What do they think we live under ****ing rocks?

When sanctioning bodies were being founded 1921(WBA) up until 1988(WBO), people didn't have access to all the information we have now. Before if you wanted to find out how many punches Kermit Cintron landed against Sergio Martinez, you wouldn't have a clue where to start. You'd probably have to go through old magazines/newspapers etc. Now I just found that out in less than a minute. We don't need a sanctioning body to rate fighters. We all have access to the statistics. Some of these organizations are crap at rating people. I honestly think a computer would be better, not even kidding.

Boxing needs an update. The only reason why they aren't using more modern technology in the sport is because human errors can help fix a fight. No instant replay? Well that wasn't a headbutt! That was a punch! Stop it on cuts, ITS A TKO!(Don't want to not be able to ref matches for this big name promoter in the future.)

That being said I'm surprised these crap organizations are still around. We'd probably be better off with an HBO belt and a SHOTIME belt ffs.

 

And people wonder why MMA is passing boxing by.

 

What we need is MORE belts. Bronze, inter-contonental copper, Southern European tarnished silver, construction paper, plastic, etc etc.

Every fighter who turns pro automatically geta a belt along with his license.


It would render the whole damned thing meaningless.


Now back to reality ....

Except it isn't. Boxing is stronger than it has been in quite a while and although it has it's flaws, it's continuing to improve.
