Can the Hawk mix in enough boxing skills to keep Manos de Piedra at bay ?? Or, when a brawl breaks out can Pryor hang in with Duran in a shoot-out ?

Pryor probably can't even outbox him in the center, let alone beat him on the inside.

Pryor is one rough 140lber...and would give even Duran trouble IMO...but Duran is too strong, too skilled. Duran decision in an all time war.

Also, while I think Hawk Pryor had a decent chin, he often managed to end up getting knocked down from being off-balance or putting himself in awkward positions.

I see Duran breaking him down steadily over the rounds, getting a fortuitous knockdown or two along the way and pulling far ahead in the championship rounds as he issues a measured beatdown. Maybe even a late stoppage.

Both great offensive fighters, Duran`s far superior defence would be the difference, I think he takes Pryor by UD (possible TKO late on not out of the question) in a war, but he`d need to be at his best, which he usually was in the days he would have been capable of making the 140 lb limit.

Roberto would feast on Pryor`s relentlessness, recklessness & openness, but Pryor being Pryor would always be there making Duran work every step which would benefit the fans, though not Pryor as far as points scored & damage done.

Pryor's my 3rd all time favorite fighter behind Tyson, and Jones, but no, he isn't winning this fight. Duran is probably THE worst possible matchup for him.

It'd be a savage fight, but I think Duran beats up Hawk down the stretch and stops him late.

Duran being one of the VERY FEW fighters in the history of 135-140 that I'd pick over Pryor.

Great calls ! Xplosive, I feel the same way about Pryor at that weight. Agianst Duran, he`d just come up short... Duran would take the fight inside and there, he`s just a bit more proficient than Pryor. And I though there were times in the Proy/Arguello fight where Alexis hurt Pryor to the body. Duran made his living with a brutal and sustained body attack. I see him landing more inside than Pryor, and using his jab, head movement and sneaky right cross on the outside to keep Pryor uncomfortable Duran UD or very late stoppage ...

Duran could be looking at an upset here. Pryor's inexhaustable stamina, hunger, strength, youth, and edge in handspeed may be enough to put him over the top

Even when he boxed, the Hawk got hit way too frequently to survive Duran. Roberto by 12th round ko.

For a guy to beat Duran they have to use angles and speed and not let Duran land and give him chances. Pryor had speed, but he was always willing to get hit, and with Duran you do not give him that chance. Duran had good power even up to 160. I think Duran stops him late. It would be a great fight, but Duran would not fold like Alexis did. Duran held the higher weights better.

Pryor gives Duran a good tussle. It would be a fun and exciting fight right up to the end. Aaron Pryor brought speed, a high workrate and he punched from awkward unusual angles.

I think Duran is the better boxer with the better power as well. Both guys had good chins. Duran`s defense sets him apart from even Arguello. He was much quicker and more dynamic than Alexis.

    Duran TKO 10th.

This would be one hell of a war. Pryor's workrate keeps Duran busy...and honest.
However, the Hawk's inferior defense comes back to haunt him, as Duran's skillset is the tiebreaker here, cultivating in a hard-fought UD for RD.

Roberto would take Aaron in a nailbiter, real close, with probably a knockdown late sealing it for Roberto.
