Apparently he is having his final fight at the Birminigham HMV Institute on June 21st but he has been granted his coaching licence so will be staying within the sport. I think Max is often overlooked but has been a real credit to the sport over the last few years and has always given his all in the ring. Since turning pro in 06 he has fought Steve Ede (Defeated Ede in Quarter finals of Prizefighter) Cello Renda (Semi Finals of Prizefighter) Sam Webb (Former British Champ) Thomas McDonagh (33-1 at the time former English Champ) Martin Concepcion (Big Punching Midlands area champ) Prince Arron x2 (Former British and Prizefighter Champ, 1st fight was a draw) Lee Edwards (Defeated the 10-1 prospect) Brian Rose x2 (The only time current British Champ has been defeated, KO6) Ahmad Kaddour (Close decision to 25-2 Contender star in Denmark) Erick Ochieng (Current English Champ) Navid Mansouri Sam Sheedy Ahmet Patterson (All 3 good prospects, Sheedy+Patterson are undefeated) and Damien Jonak in his last fight who is 35-0 and Maxwell gave him a competitive fight in Poland. Which is a hell of a resume he also managed to win the Midlands area title along the way. It will be a shame to see him go but I wish him all the best in retirement. Like you said, credit to the sport. :good I remember when he was in Prizefighter, my brother walked into the room, asked who was fighting and I managed to convince him Tony Daley had become a boxer.
either thats a poor attempt at humour or you dont know a lot about the British boxing scene. Good luck to Maxwell
always like watching him fight he could always punch hard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59Bd4mOYfpE this stoppage still pisses me off
Real nice lad who's had some rough decisions and took fights at short notice always put up a good show. Good luck to him in the future.
I saw him ko Rose,in fact I was walking past the ring going back to my seat and got a real good view. People always say good things about MM,so good luck to the lad once he goes into coaching
I've loved the guy ever since I was hammered and stuck a few quid on him beating rose because I liked the funny noises he makes when he punches. I'm pretty sure it was 16/1 on the KO. The fight wasn't shown live on sky at the time and I found out the result before it was on because my bet came in.
It'd be nice if Rose can win a world title of some sort so Maxwell can have a KO victory over a world champion on his resume. Be a nice story to tell the grand children. All the best to him, good luck in the future.
I saw him fight Rose the second time in Blackpool. I got to meet him afterwards and he was a really pleasant guy to talk to. I wish him all the best with his future career and hope he bows out with a victory!
