Erik Morales, steroids, and a pass

He was given credit for the fashion of the knockout I believe. The fight shouldn't have happened, but I'm assuming it was a rematch clause somewhere?

This **** stain on his career won't hurt his overall legacy....not to diminish his wrongful act in cheating....but most aren't going to over emphasize the negative vs the positive.

 

Morales got no pass he was suspended for 2 years, a pass is a guy like Mosley or Peterson

 

It's not about getting a pass, i'm a big a Morales fan as anyone on here but when the **** broke I made a thread about it saying how it was unnaceptable for any professional athlete to not know what they were putting in their bodies and Erik was the focus of said thread but i'm still a big a fan as I ever was of his despite what's happened.

The problem is each fighter will be treated differently and people saying 'what if Judah failed the test' or 'what if Floyd failed the test' simply don't have a clue because Judah and Mayweather don't have close to the love and admiration Erik Morales has from the average fan that's why the perception of what he did is different and people are less harsh in their criticisms.

Exactly, if you think about it Morales got punished worse then Toney did for failing multiple tests for actuals steroids nevermind Jones who got no punishment, or Peterson or Tarver or Mosley or Berto.

Let's get something straight, Morales did not get banned for 2 years. He was sanctioned by the USADA. Remember he voluntarily agreed to their tested and thus voluntarily agreed to follow any punishment that would come his way should he test positive. He can still fight in the US if the governing bodies decided to ignore the USADA's sanction.

 

Erik Morales is completely out of prime and cannot make weight and is destroying himself further by draining himself. He seriously needs to retire.

 

yup exactly, the entire career of those two should be questioned, not Morales.
