Its hard not to like Abraham, he stayed with Wegner way too long and has suffered because of it, not enough facites to his game to deal with a lot of different types of fighters . Like many Wegner trained fighters he has proved to be at a stylistic disadvantage once plan A stopped working, unfortunately it stopped working years ago. He was a very good Middleweight champion, he was able to impose himself so much more effectively at that weight, fights with Pavlik or Taylor would have been fantastic.:good

Exactly, why people stay with Wegner is beyond me, the guy is a grade A ****

I remember him calling Abraham pathetic/worthless after the Froch fight, I may be paraphrasing as I cant find the article that I saw at the time but hes terrible.

His fighters only excel through their own Mental and Physical toughness. Im a big Huck fan also but Wegner doesnt teach his fighters how to utilize their physical attributes

Imagine Abraham Ducking and weaving on the inside?
How about Huck keeping a level head and boxing off the back foot?

I give credit to any fighter who can make it to world level but when you get Trainers like Wegner it makes me sick. The dude is useless, alls he does is ****ing shout

    At 160 I agree

at 168 hes starting to become a punching bag to fringe level contenders

I wouldnt like to see him vs Degale/Groves, as tough as AA is hed be better suited at 160, im still surprised he didnt move down after the Ward loss

Same here. I was at that fight and AA was thoroughly out classed.

It makes me think either he can't make 160 any more or just doesn't have the desire to make 160.

He was finished at top level when the S6 ended, but
he should beat Steiglitz in a rubbermatch an regain the
coveted:roll:WBO supermiddleweight title. He'll also continue
to make big $$$ in germany as he's a real draw there.

He said something about his place as an elite trainer in the buildup to the Huck Povetkin fight as if he was seen in the same vain as the like of Steward and other elite trainers. Im not quite sure why he is held in such high esteem, i may bump an old thread to see if he actually has any supporters. He seems to get his fighters in shape and thats about it, any trainer worth a damn would have been able to do more with AA before he was too set in his ways. Not a complete waste AA but you definitely get the feeling that if he was equipped with a better trainer he may have been something more.

He should take the rubber match with Stig, if he lose's surely fighting Sturm who is also past it at a catch weight would be a big money fight in Germany...

Definitely finished at this point. He could fight on and get some paydays, but at the top level, he's definitely finished. His performance against Stieglitz was nothing short of disgraceful.

One of my favorites, AA took a beating last week. We'll see what is left in the 3rd fight, although I cannot, at this point, envision a favorable outcome for him.....
