Ali had a good chin, but hardly bullet proof, particularly to left hooks (Banks, Cooper and Frazier). But what was special was his recovery powers.
I couldn't believe it when I saw it first, just mental. Frazier had big balls man, just kept on trucking head first into Foreman's bombs. One hard son of a gun.
This is why i hate when people say Ortiz is glass jawed, he took that got up and recovered kinda quick he wasnt that shakey, even though he was stupid enough to get into that position in the first place i dont think most 147 lbers get up from that and if they do they will have Khan legs
Overrated in the context of the thread. Firpo could seriously punch and everything, but they were mostly glancing blows from what I remember seeing.
Foreman v Lyle, the last KD of the 4th round where Foreman has to peel his face off the floor is pretty bad as well (if it hasn't already been mentioned).
Urango Vs Bailey always bring this up when this thread is posted. Urango takes a perfect shot from Randall falls heavily then just dusts himself off as if it was nothing. [yt]T0ynwJ6s1q0[/yt] About 9.25 in
what about the Blundell fight, i think i remember that one being a massive shot took him off his feet and he got up from it somehow. have to dig it out have it somewhere
Yeah, think Dempsey hit his head on a table flying backwards though, didn't he? Still, a bit of a cheat in this thread.
More a case of how the hell did he stay on his feet? Holyfield vs Bowe Bowe's uppercut would have sent pretty much anyone down. [yt]8ooarvj6f_k[/yt] Uppercut at about 20 seconds.
Although he fell down again within 2 seconds, the fact that Hasim Rahman wasn't completely sparko after Lewis hit him with that punch always amazes me.
