Why R People Underestimating Guerrero?

You basically insinuated that Guerrero isn't a real WW because he's only fought twice at the weight. Mayweather has only fought twice at 154, the bouts were 5 years apart, and he weighed an average of 150.5 lbs. By your own standards, Mayweathet isn't a JMW. Why then do you say he should be fighting at that weight?

 

And lets not jump the gun on the Ghost's so called impressive wins ..Andre Berto has become the gate keeper to a Mayweather fight ! There was nothing ever impressive about Berto.

And I'm not holding Floyd's skill against him what I hold against him is the way he padded his record and the fact that he didn't go after the best challenges available .The man is a tremendous talent but Im not a fan of constant mis matches .

And your love is transparent why is it that when people expect the same of like what was expected of Leonard ,Delahoya etc its hate ? Not that im defending Guerrero but why was the fight labelled a NC if Salido came up negative the day after?

Also his only 2 fights at 147 was against an unknown Selcuck Aydin (who later lost to Jesus Soto Karass) and an Andre Berto coming off a 15 month layoff after a loss to Victor Ortiz and a questionable stoppage over Jan Zaveck plus lets not forget that he was forced out of a rematch with Ortiz purely because he tested positive.

Joel Casamayor - Old and shot, went the distance, was able to knock Guerrero down. Marquez stopped Casamayor 2 years prior

Vicente Escobedo - Too small for 135, went the distance. Broner and Cherry stopped him at super featherweight

Michael Katsidis at 135 - Stopped by JMM 5 months Prior

Selcuck Aydin - Struggled and went the distance. Went onto lose a MD vs Soto Karass

Andre Berto - Coming off 15 month layoff after loss to ortiz and questionable stoppage vs Zaveck

Thats Guerrero's last 5 opponents . . . and people wonder why hes being underestimated . . . . seriously . . . . .

There have been plenty of people for Guerrero to fight to be given a chance :

Juan Manuel Marquez - 3 common opponents, Marquez dealt with them better

Timothy Bradley - Light Weltwerweight champion / Welterweight Champion

Devon Alexander - See above

Paulie Malignaggi - See above

Kell Brook - Top Welterweight (now fighting Alexander)

Josesito Lopez - Beat Ortiz, recently challenged Alvarez at 154

Victor Ortiz - Common mayweather opponent

Keith Thurman - Top Welterweight

Ruslan Provodnikov - Wouldnt have meant much at the time but arguably beat Bradley earlier

Marcos Maidana - Stopped Soto Karass (who beat Selcuck Aydin)


Dude could have fought any of these and if he won I would say "well hey Mayweathers declining, hes in with a shot" hell even if he beat Aydin and Berto impressively i would say "anything could happen" but he didnt

He struggled with an unknown who hasnt done jack since, then has to hold and hit to knock an out of shape Berto down.

Dude i respect anyone who can fight at top level boxing . . . . hell even british level i can respect but at the end of the day Guerrero has done nothing to show he can beat Mayweather.

If Mayweather turns up like how were used to then were going to see a long boring UD with a few fun moments and Guerrero touching the canvas at least once.

If he shows up like he did Vs Cotto (at 154 where he is a lot slower) then were just going to see a boring UD that Guerrero might win a round and everyone gets excited saying "oh Mayweather struggled vs Guerrero because he didnt win every round"

Seriously im giving Mayweather a pass on this fight because he's coming off another Year layoff and is coming out of prison so we dont know what condition hell be in come fight night coming down from 154. Its a tune up fight as part of a 6 fight deal.

But Guerrero besides being Latino (lets face it the WBC hands titles out to Mexicans like candy, no racism there) and Floyd needs to defend the belt to make the fight more alluring to the public.

If im proven wrong I will gladly admit it but until then

I believe this is the perfect fight for Floyd at this point in his career.
I think Mayweather has been slowing down since the Ortiz fight and I am interested in seeing how much more he had declined.
Guerrero is a southpaw with an aggressive style but Floyd is much more skilled.
It's funny, back when Floyd used his footwork and boxed defensively I wanted to see him come forward more with more aggression just to confirm he could do it at the higher weights, but now I would like to see him fight the same way he did marquez so I know he is still capable of doing so. Lol

 

Why do you think Floyd is slowing down since Ortiz?

The only fight he had post Ortiz was Cotto at 154 (where he lost 2-3 rounds max)

Go back and see his fight with Delahoya at 154, he just isnt as effective at 154, its not to say he wont be his old self at 147 and it just depends if this jail time effected him

 

RG is a 147 pound fighter

FM was ranked #1 at 154 , thus making him a legit . not to mention he only came up a few pounds after fighting at 147 for 7 or 8 years now?

thats why its 12 to 1 odds

thats why its a mismatch

thats why he has zero chance to win

thats why he looks fat at 147, because he simply gained weight, by eating. because he weighs 147, he is the farest thing from a welterweight
