Tony "boring" bellew vs chilemba will be a snoozefest

I honestly don't think so, I get the impression that Chilemba really doesn't give a ****, he looked more bored than intimidated. Still, you've got to love Tony with the mentalist stare

the fact Chilemba did not react do anything push bellew or trying stair him out etc mean i dont think he was intimidated or anything it just not his sort of thing

Think he is selling more every fight.

Echo will be close to full on Saturday, in his last fight there it was only half full I think.

 

I think it's really clever. He hasn't had a 'war' since that first McKensie fight when he only had to resort to that because he came out too lax early on. Yet we continue to get the hype around his fights which is helped by Tony being articulate and using hyperbole well. He also possesses some serious power so even when he sticks to his boxing rather than looking to trade, KO's are likely in his fights. In fact, it's more of a possibility because when he doesn't crowd his work and load up, he seems to get more extension and, as a result, power in his punches.

At the end of the day, all these tags of 'Warrior' or 'Bomber' etc are just superficial. All boxers care about is getting the W and making money so whilst they'll try and promote themselves like that, that won't be the be all and end all. People still get excited by Tony's fights and the build up despite most of his fights not being wars so I think he's marketing himself well.

 

I think that if Tony doesn't respect Chilemba's power he'll do a bit of a demolition job on him, break him down, beat him up and have him out by the 10th. This one won't be boring hopefully.

Tony used his advantages of being a better boxer but look at who he was fighting. Chilema is far more mobile and technical than Ovil, Danny Mc, Miranada and that Argie fella.

 

I honestly don't think Chilemba looked "intimidated" in the slightest, it takes a little more than staring at a guy to rattle him at this level

I totally agree with Ishy. Tony's got to do what he's got to do but the promises of war fall on deaf ears with me and even people i know also remark that the promises recently haven't came to fruition.

Tony's got to do his job and i totally respect him for improving and boxing to win rather then risk losing to entertain fans but his marketability with fans won't be helped if he doesn't live up to promises in his Sky performances, I'd like him to find that balance where he can be aggressive yet remain calm and composed and defensively sound. He's improved tenfold and it was only a few years ago we spoke about Tony having hardly any activity and now he's on cusp of another world title fight. He's boxing to a plan which is impressive but would like to see a few changes in gear. Subtle ones..

This is a world level fight, It's a acid test. I don't know much about Chilemba so won't comment on the fight.

I honestly don't believe Chilemba was bothered by the stare down. I think if anything he didn't play into it. He did his thing, He's been around long enough and is experienced enough to know fight night isn't the staredown.
