Massive fight this weekend against two genuine world level fighters. I get a big feeling that Chliemba may pull off the upset on Saturday. He is a massively underrated fighter IMO and has some very decent results on his record when you look deeper into his record. He has a great work ethic and speed of hand which I think will surprise Bellew. I think Bellew will try and box off his back foot much like the McKenzie 2 fight, but I don't think he will just be able to jab off Chilemba and once Chilemba breaks his defense he will get through will relative ease IMO.
Bellew UD if he boxes off the back foot a la McKenzie 2. If he goes after Chilemba a bit more he might force the stoppage late on.
What are you basing that off? Chilemba's other fights around this level or even slightly below have all gone 12 rounds. And Tony hasn't looked particularly troubled in any fight IIRC since being so reckless in the first McKensie fight.
going for a TB points win. If for no other reason than Buddy McGirt is in the other corner (baby) Chilembas record looks decent and from doing a bit of reading about him he wont be scared to mix it and do some dirty stuff to give himself an advantage.. Miranda is dropping into gate keeper level these days and but by the sounds of it Chilemba won that fight clearly. With workrate and handspeed Will be interesting to see how tony handles the pace of the fight if it starts to resemble the clev fight Watching a few clips of Chilemba and it seems his jab can be a bit lazy and he does get wild - if Tony can out box this guy and punish him for some of the wild swings i can see a KO coming
Bellew UD by a couple of rounds not a straightforward result by any means he will have to box off the back foot IMO Chilemba will pose some real problems at times Saturday night.
Chilemba is a good fighter,I think Bellew by very close, disputed decision.Possibly as close as the Cleverly fight, which I think Bellew edged.Does anybody know when we can hit the red button for the undercard?
I think that with the crowd behind him and with the magnitude of the fight he might get reckless....making statements like "I'm going to knock him from pillar to post" doesn't fill me with confidence. I hope he doesn't get drawn in
Bellew by points. I think it will be a great fight but, unless Bellew steps off the gas, I can't see Chilemba troubling Bellew enough to take it. Bellew by UD.
Like I said in another thread, that's all a bit of an act from what I can see. He hypes every fight like that but very rarely goes to war. He'll know himself that his best performances have come from sticking to his boxing and not actively seeking the KO. The Cleverly fight was the litmus test as to his attitude & he passed that with flying colours. He was more pumped for that and it was a bigger fight yet he stuck to a game plan which in mine, and most others', opinion was enough to get him the W. I'm not overly concerned about his pre fight comments because it's been the same in his last few fights and his performances have been good enough in them.
