I'm surprised Price is getting straight back on the horse. Thought he'd be better taking a confidence booster before tackling Thompson again.

Good fight. Going back and fighting at the level below for a year is pointless imo. He's 29 and not a teenager.

Fair play to Price for having balls to take this. But it is very very risky. If he gets knocked out again (which I expect) his career is in an absolute mess.

I like him, and he is great when he starts to let punches go, goes to the body, has a variety of shots and hits really hard. But, most of us who were not in denial knew he was chinny and for a man of his size and reach his jab is appalling.

He won't have learnt to jab by July, so we can expect him to be pawing the air or just holding his hand out in front looking for a right hand again. Only this time he will likely be less aggressive due to nerves, meaning that Thompson finds it easier to unload his own punches.

If Thompson lands flush, what's going to happen? Price is getting stopped. I don't care for the eardrum excuse, sure it can mess up balance a bit, but it doesn't just fold the legs the way it did when TT landed.

I hope I'm wrong and it wouldn't be the first time I was overly concerned about punch resistance, Haye after the Mock fight being the one that springs to mind, but I don't really fancy Price to win this given the nature of his loss. It's not like I see TT being put away if Price just manages to land first.

Vedry risky, which makes it a great decision. Well done Price.

I think he will win on points in the rematch.

I wasn't suggesting a year. I was suggesting one fight.

Bang on.Credit to him if he's doing this.Like most, would have liked him to take a warmup if that had been possible against a lesser, tall southpaw, but don't really think Thompson will come in fitter and with any more ambition.Dont expect him to land the kind of punch that put Dave in trouble, and could get KOd himself this time.Obviously Davids got to have a look for a few rounds, but can see the longer it goes, the better for him.If he does it,which I expect, his career will be back on track, and it needs to be.Hes not a "baby" even as a heavyweight.Hope he does well.

Good move, if Price wins this it will make him a viable option for the Klitschkos. Thompson will fancy his chances so should be an interesting fight.

Losing a fight early in a career shouldn't write off a boxer. Price is capable of having a good career as a top heavyweight, good luck to him.

Fair play to him, hope hes got time to watch the last fight, and correct his mistakes before the rematch. He might actually start off, much more aggressively, this time. Be interesting to see what happens.

Been thinking about this and he will still have his 2 titles if he loses, obviously he won't be a main event fighter any more but he is still at least British level and there is money to be made even if he stays at that level.

Hope he can win the rematch though.

Brave move, more because of his own mental and physical questions now rather than Thompson.

For his part, Thompson might still not go rushing in for the kayo as he knows Price can whack. But he's going to be very confident.

Do you think him KOing someone at a lower level in a round will change anything? He already knows he can beat those guys and he learned more from TT than all his previous opponents. I don't think Price ever thought he was unbeatable unlike some younger guys so I don't see a need for fights to rebuild his confidence. The longer he waits for a tough fight, the worse it may be for him. We'll know what he is made of that's for sure and the fact he wants this rematch says something.

Completely agree, there is nothing to be gained from returning to domestic level. If Price is ever going to become a world class heavyweight this is do or die.
