On the tactics, Pascal started well both fights against Hopkins but something went wrong both times and the tactics weren't as good by middle rounds. I would put a limit to the capacity of Pascal to adjust. If he can upgrade that part of his game, it would be amajor asset against Bute.

It's about the drug test (USADA) and the capacity to make 175 for the fight (directed at Pascal).

Bute might not be in a position to force Pascal to adjust if Pascal is effective and starts fast and strong. Bute knows Pascal well, though, and he knows he can be hurt by Pascal, so he should have a good gameplan. Even if he does, Pascal will be dangerous, especially in the first couple of rounds, just like all the fighters with a good right that Bute has faced.

I don't want to go on about my views on this fight anymore because I'm just boring you guys.

Look forward to reading other views and we'll see what happens. :)

Bute needs to fight the same way Gatti fought Dorin!

    Two question :

Can Pascal liver resist to Bute body shot ?
Can Bute catch Pascal open defence with a vicious liver KO counter attack ?

I think it's more likely that Pascal clocks Bute really hard on the chin than that Bute catches Pascal's body really well. My view anyway.

I agree with Beastside, moving up will help Bute. But i still feel his skill are overrated, we will see how he does against Pascal. But what's the situation with the Pascal corner, i don't like Ramsay much, hope he changes to Mayweather

His skills aren't overrated, although he hasn't shown all he's capable of in a long time now...

His true downfall ain't necessarily his chin which is average, but rather the lack of mental toughness and true warrior mentality between his ears. He's first and foremost an athlete competing in a sport that's not suited for him mentally. He's definitely got the heart, just not the mental toughness which is so essential to be one of the best in this sport.

Bang on. Bute has a big heart and he is dedicated, disciplined, ambitious (mentally strong), but he doesn't have that nasty, win-at-all costs, super-alpha male dominate-always mentality, even though he does have a killer instinct and does like to win a lot.

...hard to put your finger on it really.

When in trouble, he has that lamb-to-the-slaughter, deer-in-the-headlights look that seems to cry for mercy... which most top fighters or super alpha-males don't have.:think

Hopkins reached Pascal's body many times in their first fight and that is what changed everything. Pascal gassed from the 5th round because of the bodyshots. In their second fight, he was very cautious about them and was more timid with his flurries.

Who will reach the other first? Pascal on Bute's chin or Bute on Pascal's liver?

I hope Bute don't read your post because is sadly true ( especially in Froch-Bute fight ) and a such conclusion is not good for Bute psychic .

Bute is making $2m for this fight, and unless he really screws up, he'll make at least another $1-2m before he retires, and possibly a lot more. I think that's the only thing Bute cares about reading: his bank statements. Good luck to him too! (sorry to appear callously cynical) :good
