This fight makes me nervous since what I really want to see Pavlik and Abraham go at it. If this fight happens and Miranda wins ( unlikely but Miranda always has a puncher's chance ) or is close then Abraham may get cold feet about facing Pavlik. And that would be a shame since with Andy Lee being exposed, Sturm effectively in hiding, and Wright possibly not having the physical ability anymore ( at least for a extremely physical fighter like Pavlik ) Abraham-Pavlik may be the last best hope for a decent MW Championship matchup.

Miranda wins this one, and wins it in truly brutal fashion.

Let's just hope this really happens. If AA is succesfull, it's probably the best possible way to build towards Abraham-Pavlik.
And regardless of a Pavlik fight, this is a rematch that should happen anyway. It'll be fireworks again, and AA can squash a lot of doubts by beating Miranda without point deductions, without controversy and away from safe ground.

Good fight for both, just wondering why Abraham would fight at 166? :think

Why not just fight Sturm for unification at 160?

Sturm won't fight him and Abraham wants Pavlik. -> He needs US exposure and of course a fight against a boxer like Demers wouldn't help to hype a fight against Pavlik.

If he simply wanted a U.S. exposure . . . he should have just made an arrangement to fight somebody with a good name in U.S. Why go up to 166 to fight the guy who broke his jaw.:D That's unnecessary risk.

What would a fight with Pavlik look if he is coming from a loss?

Well, it don't know any "good names" in the MW division who would fight him.
Perhaps Winky, but I think that Winky stands a much better chance against Abraham than Miranda.
Duddy is promised a shot at Pavlik, so why should he fight Abraham?
Are there other "names" at 160? I don't think so.
Abraham struggles to make 160 so I don't think fighting at 166 will be a problem. I can't see him competing against the top guys at SMW but -again - I don't consider Miranda a top guy.

    That's a great fight!

But 166 is way too much for Arthur IMO... the fight should be at half-way... 164 at most... Miranda is bigger and stronger now. I still have to go with Abraham, but in the US, at SMW, it's even tougher for him than the first one...

By the way I had good money on Miranda in the first fight, but after what Abraham survived, he made me a believer... Miranda was also very dirty so a MORE QUALIFIED referee might do more good for Arthur...

Great fight! But 166 is too much!

I dont think soo ! The HBO will not let to happen rematch betwen Abraham vs Miranda. They will bo some solid fighter and will not risk nothing. They wants to make to much money on fight Abraham vs Pavlik.

    This is my opinion....

Yes,he connected with a lucky haymaker and broke Abraham's chin twice.
However,he wasnt able to stop an severerly injured opponent who was losing tons of blood in every round.Quite the opposite Abraham seemed to be the one who was more likely to take out (round 9) his Columbian foe that the other way round.

At 166lbs, Abraham can fight without losing his paper belt. Who else but Miranda would take this fight? Anyone who faces the 'champ' want the belt if they win. Pantera just wants to kick his ass, the belt means nothing.

And if Miranda is sucessful, Abraham goes back to MW with his belt, gets a good win or two, and still has the Pavlik fight.
