The Superfight you don't know about... Lomachenko vs Selimov

This is the type of fight that I would have missed before joining ESB. I'm going to check my cable guide and make sure I find it.

 

Anyone seen the second fight between Lomachenko and Selimov? There was quite a bit of needle between the two. Selimov was catching Lomachenko coming in for most of the first two rounds, but Lomachenko switched it up from the end of the second onwards. Will be interesting to see how Lomachenko plays this one. Still expect a Lomachenko win, but Selimov could take an early round or two off him until he finds his full rhythm.

 

Thread bookmarked for reminder. Golovkin-Ishida, Rios-Alvarado and now whatever this is which has some hype behind it so me likey! Shaping up to be a great day and night of boxing.

Really looking forward to it, but not sure ill catch it live, if not will watch it on YouTube that night.

 

He was just a kid boxing in the seniors for his first season, as well as being his first and only loss. So I forgive him for being a little girly man on that occasion.

 

If Vasyl signs with Arum, GBP needs to be ashamed of themselves.

 

You knew you were watching someone special watching that bout... Lomachenko beaten by this guy in his only loss a year earlier. To draw him in the first round of the olympics, falling behind at the start of the fight... to keep his composure and confidence, to come back and run away with the bout while showboating.. That takes mental strength and self belief that only ATG athletes possess. That's why I know Lomachenko will make a successful pro for sure, he's been training his mental game as much as his physical game over the years, this isn't an Audley/Khan/Dirrell sort of guy. The kid is a beast in every way, he has the competitiveness and the confidence, like a Michael Jordan. He is still humble though, you can tell from his openness and honesty in interviews, he always says that he's working on things. He has every ingredient to make a dominant pro, it would take something drastic to change that at this point.

He beat me. I had a minor asthma attack in the second round and fainted after the bout. He had the beating of me on that occasion though, not trying to take away from his win. Big kid for whatever weight I was then, 54kg(?)...maybe...can't remember.
