Good on Haye for throwing him out.He is by far the worst mainstream boxing correspondent in the UK.
At least Buncey has a paycheck to justify his agenda.Powell is supposed to be neutral.
And you only need to read his predictions and analysis of Amir Khan to see what a disgrace he is.
Colin and Shug **** him all year long. He's nothing to anyone who knows boxing,so his pics mean **** all.

And funny how it's FWTV playing in the corner of the article...

Why did they invite him only to turn him away though? Bit of a shithouse trick that.

Powell is obviously a bit of a tit. But I think Booth and Haye have let themselves sink to his level doing this.

That article is cringe worthy, he's a professional journalist FFS.

The article is just Powell going "look what I've done, look what I've done!", it's embarrassing.

Worst thing is it takes up a full page in the paper, when was the last time daily mail had a full page just on boxing? a very long time. just shows how sad this article is.

I dont think it is a good look to be blocking journalists, especially from the print media, from doing their job. Booth obviously took issue with something that Powell has written in the past. He has no problem hyping bull**** PPV events i.e. Harrison, Ruiz et al and taking the money, but he cant take a bit of criticism.

Powell, to his credit, was one of the very few British hacks who showed a bit of objectivity during the London Olympics, whilst most others were cheerleading he was straight and fair, and had no problems in going against the grain. All admirable qualities in my book.

Booth is certainly a candidate for the biggest ego in British boxing at the moment, even in his videos with iFilm he comes across as very egotistical.

Whilst that interview is an ego trip for Powell, generally he is a fairly decent journo.

Banning him from the press conference was a silly childish move by Booth.

He's just an crap journalist. A proper arse tongue. Some of the stuff he writes about Amir Khan is embarrassing. Still, seems a bit petty to ban him from his press conference, he still has a job to do.

If Haye doesn't like him then he doesn't have to give him any one to one interviews but to ban him a from a public press conference is over-stepping it. Let the guy in to hear what you have to say like everyone else and then let him **** off to write his article which you don't have to read.

If I remember rightly Powell was particularly forceful in his articles after the Haye-Chisora brawl in stating that, short of hanging, any punishment wouldn't be too harsh for them. Like this one:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-2103434/David-Haye-Derick-Chisora-commentary.html

Rather hypocritical given the antics of some of the fighters he states he has followed down the years.

And even though Haye didn't exactly cover himself in glory against Wlad, this article wouldn't have endeared him to Booth or Haye either given the degree to which he has a pop at their characters:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/bo...Haye-damaged-British-boxing--JEFF-POWELL.html

I'm not keen on Booth myself but you'd have to have a thick skin not hold a grudge against somebody writing certain stuff about you. Whether that should extend to banning them from press conferences is another matter

Jeff Powell is easily the worst mainstream boxing journalist. His knowledge always comes off as extremely limited, almost like he only watches the world title fights. Remember years ago he made a howler about Cotto fighting someone who he never had, wish I could remember the name.

No. No he isn't. Aside from the bixing stuff already mentioned, his horrible 180 on Sven Goran Erikson after England won 5-1 in Munich was puke inducing. He made no apology for his jingoistic rants when Sven got the job, he just wrote load of arse kiss and hoped we'd forget he was spouting the exact opposite only months earlier.

Haye is awfully petty like that. When he was ducking Wlad and fighting people like Harrison, I had no gripe with exposing him on youtube and naturally I got banned from commenting on future videos.

Haye needs to buck up his ideas, the Mail along with the Sun are the only 2 papers that still give boxing reports.
