Never before have I seen someone off their feet before they stepped inside the ring, the guy was in terrible shape and was fighting for the mickey mouse version of Wlads belt

 

murrad hakkar when he "challenged" hopkins for his middleweight crown. he was in survival mode from the opening bell and did nothing but run the entire fight. can't say I blame him though. hopkins was In his prime.

 

Tony Thompson for his second stint, did absolutely nothing to warrant that and did even less in the ring when it was his turn again

 

Thompson is up there but Rahman takes the cake for recent times.

John Ruiz was an absolute atrocious "mandatory" when Haye dug him up.
he had 3 wins in 5 years...... "3"
those coming against
Otis Tisdale who had 18 losses
Jamel McCline who had 8 losses and lost 2 in a row
Adan Serin - 10 losses, 2 wins in his last 6 fights

He fought Haye in 2010 and hadnt beat a top ranked guy since Golota in 2004
this ranks up there with **** mandatories if i ever saw one

 

Rahman and Ruiz in a tie for worst recent mandatory

 

agreed that even the 41 year old thompson was a better mandatory than ruiz, although, both outcomes were the same, but didnt win a minute of any round and looked pathetic. especially ruiz with his gray hair and horrible effort

Haye had no choice to fight Ruiz though. Ruiz was paid money to step aside for haye so the fight with valuev could be made with the deal that haye had to fight him.

Still **** that he was the mandatory i agree but people saying haye dug him up etc is bull****.

 

90% of clevs promoters fighters have awful mandatory fights for the wbo belt... Some would say he has/had to much sway.

 

Ruiz was even more worse because it was for the real belt and not this paper belt of Povetkin.
I really dont get why Povetkin has this belt although Wladimir is the championatsch
Team Haye managed it well to give little HAye an easy peasy mandatory fight. I still dont know how Ruiz got in this position... He was done after the Valuev fight. Looked ****ing **** in there and then two years later he gets another shot as mandatory against Haye? Without doing ANYTHING?
Haye only was a paper champ nothing more. getting his belt from Paper Champ Valuev in a boring ass fight and then "defending" it against Audley and Ruiz...
No Haye was just a paper Champion nothing more.
