I think Sky have to have introduce a red button option for turning off the commentary because tonight was just sickening or just do everybody a favour and retire Watt and sack Halling.

Watt was bad but Halling must be the worst commentator I have heard in years, the bias bull**** he spouted made me actually mute the TV for 3 rounds because I feared I would throw the remote control through it.

For what it is worth i had Chilemba winning it by 2 rounds and I was being very generous to Bellew.

It's reassuring to come on here and see this thread and the replies after listening Sky's commentary. It was terrible.

It started with that twat who calls himself the Captain. He was doing **** all yet the commentators were talking about him as if he were Carl Froch compared to the other kid.

sky are murder for picking the winner before the fights started and sticking to it througout

its like they pick there storyline before hand and stick to it no matter what like wwf commentators

adam smith is bad for this when he does a bit - i noticed last night he was perched next to watt and halling helping out

They are mostly dreadful and blatantly biased, I also find them less knowledgeable than the Americans as well.

Look, lets face it,jim watt is not stupid.he knows as well as we all do that bellew lost.he sees everything we do and more.ive spoken to him a few times after fights and his private opinion differs greatly from his commentary.he knew bellew was losing and probably deserved lose, but would get a hometown stinker of a decision,so jim has to try and smooth it all over to avoid controversy for the casual fan.this is skys pilicy not jim watts.'sorry for the swearing 'and all that bollox.sky pay jims wages and he is stuck between a rock and a **** channel.remember gang READ BETWEEN THE LINES AND GIVE WATT A BREAK it pisses him off more than u know, but he has to tow the line, its called reality.

Hate to be negative but watt is shite and has been for years - sure he's a nice guy and he was a good fighter but I'm good at halo and I'm a nice guy... But I'd be **** at commentating too. He needs to retire.

I can't accept that. Last night he could have easily towed the company line whilst giving Chilemba the credit he deserved. He could have claimed he was a class act, but maybe just not doing enough to win the fight.

I generally like the Sky commentary team, and I especially like Jim Watt. I would normally defend him and am happy to overlook a little bit of bias. However, last night was inexcusable. They could have at least acknowledged it was a close fight, and to dispute the decision actually calls into doubt the promotion to some degree.

They were setting us up for a home verdict (which Tony himself was also expecting), and never got it. Shame on them.

There was a pretty clear agenda handed down from Sky's production team. It's not that anyone was disgraceful, it was a pretty close fight with two clashing styles. But the way Halling suggested that Bellew had it won so clearly was pretty obviously designed to make less discerning viewers think he'd been hard done by.

Which did make it something of a surprise when they featured both Conteh and Nelson saying Bellew had blown it.

I still remember Watt discrediting Haye Vs Valuev

Even though it was a **** fight, Valuev didnt land anything. Haye threw 10 punches a round and landed at least 2. And Watt was talking so much **** against Haye I was incensed at how blind he was to what was happening. emEver since I've been careful to question his opinion, right or wrong.

Perhaps they realised the commentators were not on the money and wanted to balance things out a bit. I thought Conteh's opinion was spot on.

They'd spoken to Conteh a few times through the evening and, as always, he's a very astute judge of a fight. But he was the high point of a pretty lousy studio job. Sky really needs some fresh talent in its boxing broadcast team.
