Hey, if it must end, what better way to get that L than making the younger opponent miss silly for 10 rounds and dominate the clean effective punching? Sometimes close, other times just way too clear who did the better at landing, 2 judges decided to go the robbery route and ignore the 38yo doing very well. Denis Grachev had little answer to Erdei's movement and high guard, popping jab, short hooks and counters, textbook boxing however was not for the taste of these officials tonight. Yet this loss might just have a Maravilla moment and open some doors for a big fight, it was a good performance 2 years away from the ring, and what the hell, it's just a paper loss. God knows we are having loads of them.
HBO will throw big money at Erdei now...it all makes sense. The people have spoken. Erdei should retire, even in a weak division he would get beat up by the top guys. He has obviously slowed down.
That was ridiculous.. Erdei won all the exchanges. Erdei would lead with the jab, Garchev would miss with a right by a mile and get countered by a short hook all night long.. Commentators: good right hand by Garchev :-(
Erdei even over his prime still won against Gravech! This was just a very bad decision! Gravech missing mostly by a mile or hitting the guard. When he land something it was mostly on the body. Erdeo clearly was the better fighter!
what this tells me? Froch absolutely ruined Bute, Bute's done, expect an early KO from pascal. poor Zsolt, 2 years out of the ring and this is what he gets, ****ing boxing!
A shame, i've never seen him box, but he seemed like to have good skills and very underrated, would've loved to see him on the bigger stage. F*ck this ****!
I'm an Erdei fan. I respect his resume a great bit. I haven't seen the fight, but look forward to being angered when I do... The funny thing is that I predicted Grachev to deserve the decision and get hosed but it was apparently the opposite.
Where do they rejoice?:huh In this thread I only see Bute 'non-fans' rejoicing that Bute is done, since even an over-the-hill Erdei had too much for Grachev.
Having a Maravilla Moment sounds like a tagline for a coffee brand. It sucks that the streak had to end this way. But I like Grachev. He may be very basic, but the Sillakh knockout was hilarious. If the fight was a fix, I don't understand why on earth they would bother? Maybe they are trying to nudge Erdei out of the sport, like they seemed to do with Foreman-Briggs.
