Will Crolla ever have the beating of Matthews?

I think Derry is too big and powerful for him. Ant just doesn't have the power to damage him, IMO.

If there's a trilogy (which there will be), who would you pick to win and how?

Crolla wins the next one comfortable, for some reason he didn't start letting his shots go until like round 9! Also didnt go to body in the first half for some strange reason. As soon as he did he looked a level above Derry.

I agree, he fought a disciplined fight. But if anyone is getting stopped its clearly Crolla. Matthews is just too big for him, IMO.

No he isn't too big. Crolla was he one pushing him back and landing the combinations late on.

If he started slightly faster he would have won quite handily.

 when has Crolla ever been a level above Mathews? :patsch

Derry won that by a few on my card. And I didn't think he particularly fought at his best either.

TBH i think Crolla has shown he has the beating of Derry. Derry also showing the same. There very evenly matched, I think Crolla once he settled in those final 4 rounds outboxed Derry beautifully.

Did I say he was a level above Derry? :patsch I said he looked like it late on, which he did.

Had it 114-113 Crolla, could have gone either way.

Edged them? I thought Derry dominated the mid rounds.

Crolla wins if they fight again. He was scared to drop his guard and the throw for the first half. He wont do that next time. When he finally did go to the body Derry faded badly.

Notice in the interviews afterwards Crolla was keen for the rematch, Derry not so much.

Thought if there was another few rounds, Crolla would have stopped Derry. The body shots were draining him and he looked like he was gassing badly in rds 11/12.

Then again, Derry could catch Crolla if he opens up earlier. Makes for a fascinating fight. Would edge towards Crolla.

They're probably the two most evenly matched British fighters IMO.

The trilogy needs to be completed, it will go down in British boxing history as one of the great trilogy's.

I thought Crolla would have won the first fight had he not been prematurely stopped and I think he won last night. For me, Crolla is the better fighter.
