    IS THIS THREAD A JOKE???

All Calzaghe did was beat Eubank...take 10 years off by fighting nobodies, and never looking to expand his title belts or change weightclasses...then beats an overhyped Lacy and Kessler...now will fight a 43 year old B-Hop, and you think he should be Top 20 P4P All-Time???

No clue what these people are smoking, but it's messing with all of your heads.

JC isn't an all-time great anything right now. He beat up on a soft division, and never showed the ability to beat a great fighter in their prime.

Kessler wasn't overhyped. Unlike in his fight against Lacy, Calzaghe was actually a favorite to beat Kessler at the bookies and among most boxing fans as well.

    Why is Kessler overhyped?

No, but if he totally cleaned LHW, including a SMW win over Pavlik, you could make a case for him being top 30.

I reckon he's top 10 right now. If he beats BHop he'll definitely be top 5.

If Calzaghe beats Hopkins, Pavlik, Dawson, and Woods, he'd rank top 30 on my list (and above Hopkins).

So are you stating that all through boxings history there have only been 4 others who are greater than him pound for pound. That maybe only fighters above him are perhaps Ray Robinson, Ali, Leonard, Marciano and after that is the GREAT FOE CALZAGHE! lol:patsch

    I meant current P4P. I don't think he's anywhere near top 20 all time.

I totally agree. I have been saying the same thing, but all the JC lovers keep coming up with this garbage. They obviously have no historical perspective or even know who the best p4p fighters of all time are and what they did in their careers. Is JC a very talented fighter? Yes. Is he a probable HOF fighter? Yes. Should he be mentioned as an ATG right now? Absolutely not!!!! JC fans have actually made me dislike him just because of their ridiculous proclamations about his historical standing. JC fans need to stop saying stupid things, let him finish his career, and then we can judge him on his full body of work. Until then, he is just a talented, but lightly tested fighter.
