chilemba landed so many clean punches and bellew looked shattered after 6 barely threw any punches and i used to like bellew came across very poor never gony b world class dont think chilemba would beat any top lhw to be honest
Seconded, thought I was losing it by having Chilemba winning the fight. The sky boys had bellew by a street. Entertainingly enough Bellew missing in the early rounds and being countered was good work and needed to be kept up?? And Chilemba missing and not being countered toward the end of the fight was wild and showing them nothing?? :huh
Watched Jamie Moore on ringside the other week, I normally like him but he had no clue what he was going on about and looked really nervous, che could barely get sword out, reminded me of watch Johnny Nelson. Still would be better then Nelson or Mccrory though.
Shite commentary. Halling needs to **** off back to the NFL. Cliche after cliche and most of the stuff he says just for the sake of it. Rawling and Smith/Enzo/Jones on boxnation are all miles better. They need to take a leaf out of showtimes book and get a variety of commentators and a former judge / referee who used to score fights for a living.
The Boxnation commentary team are awful as well. Paul Smith seems to know his stuff but is unbelievably boring.
Watt and Halling are both terrible commentators, sky needs to release a lot of the dead wood and bring in fresh new blood
The one thing i hate from this is that the casuals use the likes of watt to back up their arguament. Last night when talking to a mate who is a casual fan he would just repeat the rubbish the 2 commentators were saying about tony closing up the show and dictating the fight, and then when you try to give them a little knowledge and show them that clearly chilemba was bossing the fight they come back with, 'so you know more than the experts at sky?' ****ing pricks obviously i know more than them muppets. Them twats aint experts, its about time they really got some people with a little bit of knowledge on the sport.. Someone like tris dixon would be great to put all the muppets in their place.
So ****ing easy to be negative.Jim watt is a good commentater with vast experience, much more than 99% of this forum.so what he thought bellew won, there are many ways to watch boxing thats why you have judges on different sides and they call it subjective.I thought it was a fair result in a fight nobody took a grip of.Chilembas defence and countering was good but you would think was world class after todays overreaction.Thing is chilembas punches lacked power, whereas bellew hurt chilemba at least twice, judges can base rounds on effective punching or workrate(bellew) and trying to force the fight(bellew) Judging on tv must be a thankless task and has anyone who watches boxnation regularly heard the likes of mark tibbs(thats a disgrace) or barry jones(fence sitter/home fighter) On a different note dissapointed to hear bellew say clearly at least twice that he was the home fighter like that meant he should have got a gift in a world title eliminator. I thought draw was fair result but i wouldnt be offended if jim watt had it drastically different, isnt that the beauty of boxing.Different opinions. And i agree conteh was very good
Delighted to see this thread, couldn't believe how bad they were last night. Thought Chilemba was very comfortable throughout, kept landing clean while Bellew couldn't seem to land anything on him. The way Watt and your man were ignoring Chilembas clean shots was very strange. I usually think Watt is good but last night was up there with the worst commentary I've seen. I'm actually a Bellew fan but Chilemba just made him look awful last night and I had Chilemba winning the fight without doubt. If you can't land anything clean on your opponent and take a lot of clean shots yourself how the **** can you win the fight? What was telling for me was we didn't get to see the 'punches landed' stats, I'd say they'd have made for intersting reading.
