I really didn't like the way he tried to show up Chilemba in the post-fight interview and just generally he talks too much **** that he comes nowhere near backing up. It is only very recently that I have gone against him though.
Needs to listen to his corner more, you could hear his corner on the tele shouting working the body. Needs to relax abit more, he looks very very hyped. Realise he aint at world level yet, the cleverley fight rushed and falsified his progression, should have some european level fights.
I need to check this fight out and his post-fight interview. In the lead-up to the fight he's been coming across as a *****, but I'll need to have a look for myself.
Its his attitude, we've seen little bits of evidence he's a ***** but overlooked or brushed it off as bravado til now, last night it sort of all added up for me and he showed his true colours. I used to big a big fan until last night but now I want to see him KO'd. He needs to realise his level and be humble about it, since the Miranda fight I've always thought he was Euro level at best.
You'll notice I've never said much about Tony, he seemed like a really nice guy on the forum to be fair, never really liked his manner in the buildup to fights, I know you have to act strong but he overdid it a bit for me but hey, to each his own. As a fighter he's never really been on my radar, but then again neither has the lightheavy division itself to be honest the last few years. I thought Cleverly beat him, don't hold it against anyone who thinks otherwise I havn't even seen the fight but I was half expecting to read a news report saying he'd lost, I just had one of those feelings never really got the love myself but hey, he might come out and look like a monster in his next fight weird **** like that happens in this game
same, but again, ive never been a big fan but his posts on here he always came across as a really nice, considerate guy, hardly a paul smith, his attitudes before fights is terrible though
The way he tried to get the fans going in the last round despite doing **** all most of the fight was pathetic. Maybe give them a reason to cheer and not bore them out of their minds, Tony? The way Sky hyped him up as an all-action, blood and guts fighter in the promo before the fight was pretty funny as well. He's been in some real snooze-fests.
Used to like him, not after last night. Completely disrespectful and now making it worse for himself on twitter calling chilemba a clown etc. just can't take that he couldn't beat (and in my opinion lost to) a guy who he thought was a level below him. Nobody likes a sore loser.
It's strange because he comes across as a genuinely nice and down to earth guy on this forum, but put him in front of a camera and he turns into a monumental bell-end.
Aye that's true, he's generally articulate and pretty well mannered on here. He continues to make himself look a complete & utter twat in front of the camera's though, shame really because when he tones the nonsense down he's a nice chap.
Tony Bellew does not need to change his attitude or personality! He is abit of a moaner, he is hot headed, and has a sadistic undertone when it comes to boxing! And he is passionate! Because that's how he deals with the day to day pressures and graft. But like i have said time and time again, he needs to move up to Crusierweight. He is a zombie at 175, and i don't care what strength & conditioning coaches he works with, i don't care what Nutritionists he works with. Tony Bellew staying at 175 is detrimental to his performance, he will be allot stronger and healthy at cruiser-weight. I honestly think he is a bad beat down or knock-out waiting to happen, simply because of the toil that making 175 impacts on his body. I think his body is depleted, and it is showing on fight night. I think he has lost fights at 175, and looked flat in some fights, because he is weight drained. Can any of you guys remember when Nathan Cleverly stated... "You are dead at the weight, everybody knows this"... Its good to be brave, but sometimes its better to be wise! The Crusierweight Division is a big jump! But Bellew is a big guy, and naturally i think he is a Crusierweight. Its a better division, it has HUGE untapped potential, fights and match ups. When David Haye was at Crusierweight! The division was exciting, it was building! It is the forgotten division, because of media discrimination. The fact of the matter is, Crusierweights are most of the time big enough to hit as hard as Heavyweights, and always always in condition. I can't stand the Light Heavyweight Division! Full of boring fights, boring fighters! It seems to be like there is only 3-5 fighters in the whole division.
