This is possibly the last fight we'll see bellew as a main event fighter

This is the third time he's given a boring performance, he's not fan friendly, and you could tell eddie hearns was quite pissed off in the postfight interview when bellew started talking about having a rematch. sky is possibly gonna try and drop him from the main event and put him on the undercard where he belongs fighting the likes of Ajisafe.

whats he going to do light another bonfire in the prefight build ups and get all the scouses all riled up and then give another **** performance as is the norm for him.
ppl were leaving there seats after the 4th round, the whole stadium fell to silence at the end of the fight. he doesn't deserve to be on sky, he talks all this bull**** about having 3 kids and growing up rough, perhaps the ****er should buy a plane ticket and go over to malawi and see where chalimba grew up.

Fighting the likes of Ajisafe? You're clearly on a wind up.

ive got to say to was a shite performance in front of your home fans. its not going to let hearn build a long term plan around him, people just wont put up with much more of that. i wouldnt pay to see him fight. ive always been a bit of a fan and appreciated him coming on here but it just seems that if he things that was good enough on sat and that he was hard done by then hes delusional.

as i said in another thread, maybe the problem is hes just reached his level. one thing i am certain of is that if he really believes the stuff he was saying in the press conference and doesnt have a team thats giving him a reality check then hes got no hope of progressing beyond where he is now.

Sky was boosting Bellew up as the next big banger, someone who makes for exciting fights. But there comes a point when even the least demanding viewer will start questioning whether Bellew is that - because everyone knows he isn't.

If Hearn is serious about good, crowd-pleasing fights - they're not going to happen with Bellew as the headliner. Agreeing with IRONSENSE makes me a little ill, but he's right. Why waste money on him when there are exciting fighters like Frampton out there?

Might just be the case that Bellew has had his big chance and blown it. The thing that should be worrying him was Hearn's face after the fight and the way he was talking. Hearn had an air of resignation about him when he said he thought Bellew didn't deserve anything more than he got, and also talked about blessings in disguise and going back to learning for Bellew. Bellew is 30. Hearn's demeanour smacked of the conclusion W*rren came to over Bellew. After initially intending to build up a bigger Bellew-Clev rivalry he cashed it in earlier than had been planned.

Goes without saying that Bellew's next fight could be rather important for him

i agree with all of this, at 30 you're pretty much the finished article, hearns might take him over to the states and throw him in with cloud.

thats a really good point about the clev fight. it seemed very un frank like to risk that fight. watching bellew now, i can see why he did it.

I think this may be a little sensationalist. Of course Eddie Hearn is going to be disappointed after his fighter drew a final eliminator, or we could say lost the opportunity at home to earn a title shot.

But he still only drew a final eliminator against a very good fighter, he was no bum and that was even reflected in the odds going into this fight, Bellew wasn't a prohibitive favorite. When this all blows over in a few weeks its really not that dramatic. You'd think reading this place it signaled the death knell for his career! He drew a final eliminator for a world title, whether he said what he did before the fight or whether he quoted lines from the Bible makes little difference, he's lost momentum not everything.

Bellew on his Twitter account has already said he would expect the rematch to be on the undercard of an event.

I said this before the fight and not with hindsight: The fight should not have been a main event in the first place. Tony is a lot more conservative inside the ring then out of it, especially since being floored. Most people in the arena were there to see someone else.

I'm sure he'll headline another couple of cards but it will get more competitive for the headlining spots with the moves Matchroom are making so he will drop back soon. I'd fancy Bellew to beat Chilemba if he fights on the front foot, beyond that he'd be beaten by anyone above that level, including Clev, so will drop down to being a good undercard fighter and likely never win a world title.
