Was Kalambay's performance against McCallum the best boxing performance ever?

I think the performance was terrific.

If it had come 18 months or so prior, I'd be all over it.

Still bloody good though. And Naz had the credentials going into it. I'll take Marcel-Gomez > it though. Give it a watch, on YouTube in it's entirety you may agree :good

Jones/Toney is very good but getting overrated. Great performance yes but cant compare to the other fights mentioned.

Ward/Froch is equal if not better than Ward/Dawson and the best clinic I've seen in modern times so far.

That performance is overrated too. Would take Hatton and def Hernandez clearly over it as far as Mayweather performances. Did see the Avelar-Canto fight months ago and it was a great clinic and a hugely buried gem.

Will see Marcel-Gomez. Saw a bit of highlights from Marcel-Arguello and will continue that along with Sumbu research. Been a while since I've seen so skilled technicians. Been a while since I really studied fights I've watch in general.

Definitely, if we're going to drop down a level or so Wright-Trinidad/Mosley and Marquez-Polo is a masterful performance, Polo his prior championship fights was robbed against Scott Harrison, deserving a win over Chacon and going to an SD against Gainer (haven't seen that one)

Thank God I haven't actually seen the fight and instead simply took someone elses opinion as my own. Otherwise I might be offended. And I of course forgot that Sumbu was moving up against an ATG, not the other way around. A boring fight is Tiger-Torres but I probably have seen that either and instead take it as gospel from some other dude.

Let me put it another way; if Kalambay moved up and eeeked out a close win over Dwight Braxton no one would have been impressed with that I guess. And tiger is better than Qawi was.

Whitaker v McGirt II & Sanchez v Lopez I & II were as complete & perfect as you can get vs top fighters.

I thought Griffith just edged it, close fight though, I really liked Griffiths gameplan in it though.

One of my favourite Barrera fights to watch but if we`re talking all time boxing performances then there are a few higher. Morales-pacquiao I was probably equal to it, quality of opponent & primes/past primes taken on board.

Fantastic perfomances, but if memory serves me right Whitaker-McGirt II was mainly an inside affair, and Sanchez boxed Lopez at a distance in their two fights. What's so striking with Kalambay against McCallum is that he controlls all ranges masterfully, and does so against a true master boxer.

Honestly, hy NOT Norris-Leonard? Leonard was the favorite as McCallum was against Kalambay

Sanchez-Lopez was mostly a distance affair, your right, but Whitaker beat McGirt in every range possible, amazing performance.

McCallum was still in his prime, your boy Leonard was nowhere near his.

I dont see any ring rust on him

he was at his best weight

    He just shut out Duran

He was heavily favored to win

he hadnt lost in 11 yrs

He picked up three additional championships

You still think you have a case? I don't
