What happened to him after the Vitali fight? He fights a 10 rounder against Aguilera and couldn't impress. He won through robbery against Chambers and Cunningham. He drives drunken a car and do hit and run after an accident. He was in jail for a night. He was knocked down by Travis Walker. Now he was ducking Pulev because of money issues. Now he wanted to fight Joe Hanks instead of, a unknown guy, never heard of him. He fall far behind in the rankings. He changed his managment, who made him succesfull. He is ducking Wlodarczyk and Szpilka. Joe Hanks probably will not fight against Adamek now, because he faces Andy Ruiz Jr. The question now is, whats next for Adamek??
Nothing's happened to him. He's simply reaching the end of a long and gruelling career, and has to set his sights on big money opportunities before he finally hangs them up. Not sure what the rationale was behind his firing of Duva, but there may have been tension behind the scenes. Who knows?
Vitali is a mean ****er who takes the will and soul of his victims, chews and spits them out and digs them a grave Adamek is DONE, FINISHED, use whatever word you want for it, at top level, he has no more than a few fights left in him before he calls it quits
Yep, he was helluva ambitious - you gotta give him that. But then he bumped into a wall in Vitali, probably tried to convince himself that he can still be at least a bit competitive with the other Klit but lost delusions along the way and looks for some farewell money now.
Trolling aside Adamek was a GREAT fighter before Vitali got to him. I like to troll Adamek fanboys sometimes, but I truly admire Adamek as a fighter and at his best he was really something special. Pre-Vitali Adamek would have had a good shot at beating guys like Haye and Povetkin I think. He needs to hang them up now though, he's not what he used to be.
You say that but even now most people would give someone like Arreola at least a 30% chance of toppling Haye. Who of course was beaten without that many problems by Adamek.
Adamek is still elite. Look at his list of opponents since late 08. Cunningham, Banks, Gunn, Golota, Estrada, Arreola, Grant, Klitschko, Cunningham, Chambers, Walker, Aguilera, Maddalone, McBride. In the same time Wladimir fought Rahman, Chagaev, Chambers, Peter, Haye, Mormeck, Thompson, Wach. Obviously Wlad looked way better in his performances but you could make an argument that Adamek's opponent list has been the strongest in the division. Sure Adamek is slowing down but you can't say he's done or anything. He would still handily defeat any heavyweight that isn't elite.
Adamek is one of the best warriors out there, fought everybody in three divisions. His resume is pretty impresive, you've got to love him for his big heart. You can't blame him for getting old and getting destroyed by Vitali.
