What was Manny's better performance against Marquez? 3rd fight or 4th fight.

Clearly the 4th IMO. Manny was turning on angles and countering the counter-puncher. Marquez obliged him a bit by offering less lateral movement and sitting down on his punches more, but it was still clear that Manny's footwork had greatly improved and was allowing him to set up his shots better. In the 3rd fight, Manny boxed almost expecting Marquez to come at him and open up Manny's offense for him, which wasn't the case, but in the 4th he used feints and set up traps much more effectively.

 

4rth. Marquez was a bit slower because of all of that bulk, but boy did it pay off :yep

 

3th, Manny looked faster, better balanced, but so did Marquez.
Pacquiao in the 4th only looked good because Marquez also looked bad and slow, both of them are pretty past-it (But good enough to beat 90% of most fighters in their divisions).

 

3rd fight

He saw round 7, let alone round 12, plus stayed on his feet.

 

He was faster and fresher in the 3rd fight, but he looked better overall in the 4th minus the knockdowns.

What is wrong with people? You guys are crazy. The 4th fight ended in him face first asleep from a savage KO. Plus he got KD'd hard in round 3, and lost round 4 clearly as well.

If the question is "the third fight or the first two rounds of the fourth fight," than the answer would be the fourth fight. But we are talking about the whole fight here people. And he was dropped twice and on the losing end of the KO of the Year, in round 6. See above statement, repeat.

 

it is hard to ignore the last part of the fight. And Manny was knocked down, which sort of told me this fight might be different than the others. Manny was just not the same.

I'd say 4th as well even with the KD on the 3rd round BUT minus the KO.

Take note that he also knocked JMM down (why this has been forgotten is understandable) on the 4th fight.
He was using his feints more effectively (there were even new feints that he added on his arsenal), he was catching JMM more cleanly than he ever did in the 3rd fight not just because JMM was sitting on his punches more, but also because Manny was placing his shots more correctly (e.g. the hook that caused the huge cut on JMM's nose was almost perfect -- he placed it lower than usual in anticipation of JMM ducking, the counter lead left that knocked JMM down was also a thing of beauty).
He was also dodging JMM's shots better when JMM was being aggressive. This was the first time I saw him make JMM miss in a series of 3 or 4 punch combination.

And let's be honest here people, if Pac didn't get reckless on the dying seconds of round 6, we all know who was in a better position to win that fight.
You all seem to forget that JMM's face was looking like this when he finally got his most deserved W over Pac:
