I'd be shocked if Frampton fights anybody other than Quigg or Romero in his next bout. He said so himself he doesn't want anybody else so it would surprise me if his team organized a lesser fight.

My money's on a Romero fight in Belfast this July.

I think Frampton should win it comfortably based on their development anyway. From their side it shouldn't be a worry about whether you're getting 50, 60 or 65% when you're at home and you're expecting to win this fight well.

At the end of it you get paid well and you're much better off in every sense than you are for fighting a treading water opponent, the only way this doesn't necessarily hold true is if you have the option of a world title fight which would make it a no brainer, you gotta take that fight and then see if this fight is the best way forward once more.

This is why egos getting involved can be detrimental in the end, bringing that into play may get you the odd 5% here and there but if it risks fights like this, the ends don't justify the means. You gotta know the Hatton's aren't putting their golden prospect in a fight for away from home that they absolutely know is very tough for 35 or 40%, so its about putting the ego away, being moral and saying 'this fight is worth taking 50/50 for even if I think I bring more to the table'.

I agree with what both of you's are saying but you can't really blame Team Frampton for wanting a bigger slice of the purse, they are the ones with the options so don't necessarily have to make the fight. Quigg on the other hand doesn't really have many other options, what other big fight is he likely to get any time soon ?

If Romero comes to Belfast for a voluntary defence against Frampton, I would expect it will not come cheap nor without strings. If Frampton fights Quigg next and beats him (I think he would stop Quigg), would that put him in a mandatory position to fight Romero next, or would Frampton have to fight someone else to get into a mandatory position for Romero?

Whats Romero's other option? Defend his title in Columbia?

I would imagine a Quigg fight would be for the WBA interim so that's essentially a WBA eliminator.

Quigg, Romero, Mathbuella, Batkin. All good fights.

    1 NOT RATED

    2 NOT RATED

    3 Carl Frampton

    4 Leo Santa Cruz

    5 Sasha Bakhtine

    6 Jeffery Mathebula

    7 Takalani Ndlovu

    8 Rico Ramos

    9 Vic Darchinyan

    10 Alejandro Lopez

Based on these rankings I'd say if Frampton wins his next fight he'd be made mandatory.

Good shout actually. A Euro title defense and a final eliminator. I still expect to see Quigg or Romero next but Bakhtin could possibly happen.

If I were frampton I would defend my euro and earn myself some easy cash. I'm sure that quigg could become WBA champ or at least be offered a world title fight once rigo donaire fight so he's got plenty of options on the table would make sense for frampton to go for ibf and then both put their world titles on the line

I'm not sure a) Romero is easier than Quigg or b) looking past Romero toward Quigg is very wise for Carl.

Its a pity Frampton got cut in his last fight, I think they had planned to have him out again in May. If it had been the case then a fight with Quigg in front of a full house at the Odyssey and if he came through that unscathed then a potential world title tilt in front of a packed Belfast crowd at an outdoor venue such Seaview at the end of the summer would have been ideal.

I thought the problem was a perfarated eardrum not the cut? Why is it assumed the fight would happen in Ireland there are venues in England that hold almost double that the odyssey holds

I would like to see Frampton & Quigg on the same card in seperate fights. Could do Frampton vs Mathbuela in an eliminator and Quigg vs Casey at the 02 in Dublin. 14,000 tickets, builds a fight between them and opens up the Southern Irish market.

Do a 3 fight deal with Quigg if your Matchroom and agree a Frampton fight at the end.

July - Frampton vs Mathbuella (IBF Final Elim), Quigg vs Casey (WBA Interim)
October - Romero vs Frampton (IBF), Quigg vs Solanis (WBA Regular)
February 2014 - Frampton vs Quigg (IBF & WBA Unification)

I dont know why you keep talking about Dublin venues for Frampton, his market is Belfast and it has taken a lot of time and effort to build his following in Belfast. The O2 in Dublin doesnt hold 14k it is basically the same capacity as the Oydssey.

Actually that fight plan you outline isnt too bad on paper, providing Quigg and Frampton keep winning and the WBA is vacated. If one of them loses then the fight loses a lot of value. But if a possible Quigg-Frampton unification was on the cards next year, it would make more sense to have it at the beginning of the summer in the Seaview.

The fight would sell anywhere in the uk thought and the longer it is left the more highly anticipated it gets I still don't understand why it is automatically assumed that the fight is in Ireland. The fight plan you have above looks good but I think with all due respect, the casey fight is a bit of a waste of time at this stage
