There is a tendency to over romanticize Harrison in his hey day - both his opposition and his ability. He was very good, but he was limited too, I wouldn't say he matches Burns hand or foot speed as somebody earlier claimed for a start. Also, his opposition wasn't that dissimilar to some of Burns best wins for the most part. B grade sort of fighters, perfectly respectable, but there is nothing that spectacular there IMO. I wouldn't say there is a ton between them record for record, Harrison possibly slightly ahead but Burns should surpass him not before long.
Billy I think Rees v Mitchell would be a good fight for both. As for winner of Scott and Liam I would say no, as they will be beyond that. Especially Scott, with his resume he can't be waiting around, I would say Vasquez if he wins, as I agree with someone who said Frank ****** would love to make that fight for the winner of scott and Liam - and I agree. So how long do you think Ricky will stay at Lightweight - 12 months or so ? That was Scotts biggest boxing mistake not moving up years ago. When you were in his camp did you ever advice him he should move up in weight ?
Before Scott's last fight he had 5 opponents call off on him, he didn't even know he was definetly fighting until 4 hours before the show. Scott is not going to train 8 hard weeks to fight a mug for 6 rounds when he was used to title fights. This time he's in full flight and that poor boys gonae get his ribs caved in.
Thats not bad, 3 quid for a curry, is it chinese or indian? I would take the missus but she doesnt like eating out with me, always gets embarrassed when I lick my plate when Im finished:blurp
Yup, I have to agree. Maybe my heart is ruling my head on this one, but I have a feeling that far from being finished, scotty has unfinished business, & Walsh doesnt know what hes let himself in for. Great seeing Scotty training just down the road from me, gives me goosebumps to see my favourite fighter where I used to hang around in my young days, & those steps hes working on are a killer, steep as **** & go on forever!
What is that BN problem, on one hand he's giving Scott credit for what he achieved and on the other hand saying everybody he fought was shite. Make your mind Billy and stop talking bull****.
Billy, I love you too:smooch Im not a big believer in Alex Morrison Billy, so Im kinda glad they split. & no doubt this is Ricky Burns time, im still a huge fan of the lad, always have been, always will be. However, im worried that Ricky's career is stagnating like the economy at the moment. This is where im coming from. IF Burns doesnt get a defining fight this year, & scotty beats Walsh & avoids the clink for the foreseeable future, then why not have a battle of Scotlands finest? Every economy needs a boost when its stagnant, & a comebacking Scotty vs your fighter would get things going again AND bloody rake it in for you Billy, so stop being so po-faced at the mere mention of Scotty in the same breath as the rickster! Move over Gideon, Dunky the wealth creator for chancellor:smoke
Very possible, think Harrison will start well but tire and be taken apart Will be hoping Harrison can pull it off as Scott Harrison of old would win by annihilation
Your so far wrong there Dunky, I done a multitude of things for Scott and Peter when I was with them, but time has caught up and it's Ricky's time now. Scott won't get a shot at Ricky IMO, Ricky will be involved in massive fights soon after he deals with his mandatory Jose Gonzalez
I agree mostly with what your saying Dunky but a fight with Scott is only big in Scotland, Ricky needs to get his name out there and will be unifying titles next on the worldwide stage.
