I get you Smog, Thinking if it's the way to go. If others agree please say. Well i think you said it the other day, The Promoter can't fight. If it's poor it's not his fault. It's the boxers that have to perform. I do think we can critic how promoters guide fighters careers and main events on paper but i think the Bellew-Chilemba fight on paper looked good. Eddie for me can't take the blame for a poor entertainment value from the fighters. Lads fire away your idea's. I'd appreciate some opinions. Will try my best to deliever a thread that suits everyones criteria's.
I tend to agree with you but I think theres others who will disagree with you. Will a promoters be handicapped. For example if Dave Coldwell made Martin Gethin vs Derry Matthews as a main event he would get allot of praise, if Hearn makes that fight its average for him?
That's what happens when you claim you're only interested in making the big fights. People hold you to account for it.
True. Maybe have to rate domestic fights different to world/international fights. Maybe Bellew-Chilemba to be rated out of 10, Compared to Mathews vs Crolla which would be rated out of 5 as it's a Domestic clash. I suppose only issue with that would be likes of Dave would be losing out greatly on points because he's not got any world level fights currently.
It's a toughie to rate. I mean we had two 10/10 fights from Top Rank but I'm pretty sure that Bob was expecting them to be comfortable wins for Bradley and Rios. That was the general expectation anyway. Now Matthysse v Peterson on paper is a terrific matchmaking but it's doubtful it'll beat those two TR fights in terms of entertainment.
