Berto is a good fighter, and yet his best win is El Indio Quintanna, and I mean legitimate win cause I actually had him losing to Collazo. That said Berto was getting million dollar paydays on HBO and beating up Jr Welters most of the time. There were Better fighters out there who have not seen such paydays, I wonder how much a Golovkin makes these days? surely Al Haymon did one hell of a job getting Berto exposure and million dollar paydays on HBO. sadly I bet guys like Lara, Abril, Mathysse, maybe even a Golovkin? haven't gotten those type paydays not sure but if someone could fill me in what K2 produces in terms of money for GGG's fights. Haymon made Berto some money.
Berto could have beaten both Ortiz and Guerrero had he come in with the right gameplan. He lost to Ortiz because of his lack of stamina in the later rounds and he lost to Guerrero because he was trying to be like Mayweather.
Haymon does a great job for all his fighters. Hand-picked opponents for huge paydays on HBO/Showtime is everything they could ask for. I like Berto though. He's always in good fights.
The Quintana fight he actually fought properly and looked like a beast The guy just does not know how to keep a gameplan, he thought he could walk through anyone then learnt the hard way with Ortiz, but then he still does the same **** against Guerrero The losses will humble him and its now or never for him so a new trainer can only do him good
GTFOH!!!! SAME could be said about any fighter that lost, this fukkin post is pathetic just like Berto.
Haymon got him $900k from HBO for the Freddy Hernandez fight. I remember that. They showed Hernandez on the mitts as Caballero/Litzau ended and he looked like ****, straight up whiffing. I said to my friend next to me, "if I were in Vegas I'd put a ton of money down on a first round KO." And that it was... Yeah (deep exhale), one of those moments when you pat yourself on the back.
He continues to get Bika TV slots. Look at the deal he got Mayweather. The man is the best manager ever
Haymon got him paid way more than he deserved for who he was fighting. Don't think it helped when he went up a step in class though....
Yeah when I heard how much he got paid I was shocked but he does surprisingly high ratings on HBO. Seems like african american boxing fans rarely attend fights but they definitely tune in when a top AA boxer is fighting.
