As much as I admired McGuigan and was of the opinion that Hamed was an arsehole,I can only see Barry losing this one. Hamed was too skilled.
Just been watching clips of naz on YouTube and like him or loathe him the man could entertain, punched like a mule. He got too big for his own boots and that ended up being the downfall of him, should have stuck with ingle.
Both are very much underrated, coming from the continent to get the props they deserve. McGuigan as a pressure fighter merged his defense and offense seemlessly, technically brilliant, a big hitter. Hamed unorthodox, fast, good use of range, lots of technical mistakes but a great puncher, excellent counter puncher with great timing and good use of angles, had every punch in his locker including the best FW uppercut ever. Both would beat many off most peoples top15 FW lists. Who wins this, I think it depends on tactics, Hamed could catch McGuigan coming in or McGuigan could look to take advantage of Hamed's errors like MAB did. I'd go with Hamed though.
I think McGuigan is being underrated here. I dont know if he'd win but McGuigan would be probably the greatest fighter Naz faced apart from Barrera. Thats why I cant automatically give this win to Naz. At least not without him showing us something very very good on the night.
