Zou who? Estrada is the one to get excited about!

I'd love to see a Gonzalez rematch, it would be fought on a much higher scale of importance given JuanFran's performance today.

Marquez would be guaranteed action, as would Segura. Adrian Hernandez is at the weight below, and also a Sanchez rematch up at junior bantam - loads of all-Mexican wars to be had!

In an ideal world I'd like to see Estrada fight Igarashi next, then Segura followed by a Gonzalez rematch. But that's optimistic.

 

On the point you bring up there re: Viloria, I want to nip that in the bud before people start proclaiming the Hawaian Punch to be "past his best" etc.

I cannot imagine Viloria fighting any better or differently than he did today. He was the aggressor early, then varied between boxing on the back foot and working inside over the last 6 rounds. Going inside really didn't do him much good, because as IB mentioned in the thread, Estrada isn't like a Marquez or a Segura, he's much more thought out in the way he attacks. He is also stronger, so I think that was key to how the fight was won and lost.

I feel Estrada is just a better fighter than Viloria. If people suggest father time has caught up with Viloria, then I would simply say that at 22, Estrada arguably isn't at his best either. Pretty scary thought.

True. I really liked Estrada's shot selection. Ripping uppercuts through the middle, a body attack that was sustained throughout the 12 rounds incorporating a wicked left hook to the ribs I thought Viloria did well to stand up to.

 

I haven't seen Melindo, is he good?
